What is Citi’s Bitcoin price prediction for 2027? According to an October 2, 2026 report by Forbes Europe, Citi analysts raised their Bitcoin target to $113,000 over the next 12 months, up from $82,000. That rolling horizon is not a precise date in 2027, despite the headline’s calendar-year framing. The report says the figures came from a Citi note seen by Reuters; the note itself was not available for independent review.
What changed in Citi’s reported Bitcoin forecast?
The October 2 report says Citi analysts lifted their Bitcoin target from $82,000 to $113,000 over the next 12 months. The revised figure is a forecast, not a price already reached or a guarantee of future performance. The report does not specify an exact endpoint for the 12-month period, so it cannot be translated into a particular day or quarter in 2027. Forbes Europe’s October 2, 2026 article attributes the target to a Citi note that it says Reuters had seen.

Why does Citi reportedly expect more ETF demand?
The article attributes a further estimate to Citi: $5 billion in Bitcoin ETF inflows through advisers and brokerages. This is expected future activity, not a report of $5 billion already invested. The article also puts assets held by U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs at about $110 billion at the time of publication. That is an approximate, dated figure, not a current assets-under-management total. The report does not provide further details about how Citi derived either estimate.

The bullish forecast sits alongside uncertainty about U.S. labor-market data and how it may shift expectations for Federal Reserve rates. In emailed comments quoted by Forbes Europe, FxPro chief market analyst Alex Kuptsikevich said: “The release of US labour market statistics could, in theory, either accelerate the rally or reverse the trend.”

Kuptsikevich added conditionally: “If the report is very strong, markets may once again price in a Fed rate rise in October, reducing demand for risk assets. And bitcoin may prove to be quite sensitive to this.” This is his market view, not an official Federal Reserve statement or a proven cause-and-effect rule. Strong data could change rate expectations and weigh on risk appetite; the report also allows for data that could support the rally.
What the reported numbers do—and do not—establish
The available account identifies Citi as the source of the forecast and ETF-flow expectation, but the underlying note and its assumptions were not available for independent review. It does not establish the analysts’ identities, their methodology, confidence level, or precise forecast endpoint.
