Cisco announced collaboration capabilities in September 2025; Webex later documented an Agentic Apps category built on MCP and A2A in September 2026. Those are separate developments, and availability varies by feature.
What Cisco means by an agentic framework for Webex
“Agentic framework” is a useful umbrella for Cisco’s direction, not the official name of one product launch. The capabilities described by Cisco and Webex cover several related layers: creating agents, connecting them to business systems, automating workflows, and letting agents discover and coordinate capabilities.

- Agent creation: AI Agent Studio is the environment Cisco describes for creating agents. Webex’s current product information says AI Agents for Collaboration are intended to connect to business systems and automate work across voice, video, and digital interactions.
- Workflow automation: Cisco’s March 2025 announcement described automating tasks involving enterprise applications, with Salesforce, ServiceNow, and Jira as examples.
- Enterprise integrations: Cisco’s September 2025 announcement named Amazon Q index, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and Salesforce in its Webex Suite integration story.
- Agent and tool coordination: Webex’s September 2026 Agentic Apps documentation describes capabilities based on MCP and A2A for discovering tools or agents, sharing context, and coordinating actions.
These layers may be related, but the announcements do not establish that every integration or protocol is part of one universally available package.

| Date | Development | What it establishes |
|---|---|---|
| October 23, 2024 | Webex AI Agent and AI Agent Studio announced for contact-center use | Earlier context for Cisco’s agent-building direction; it is not evidence that the later collaboration capabilities launched at the same time. |
| March 17, 2025 | Cisco described agentic AI collaboration and announced Webex AI Agent availability and workflow automation plans | Salesforce, ServiceNow, and Jira were named as enterprise-app examples in the announcement. |
| September 30, 2025 | Cisco announced agentic capabilities in Cisco AI Assistant, RoomOS 26, and integrations across Cisco devices and the Webex Suite | The announcement listed Q4 CY25 as a general-availability target for items in the release and Q1 CY26 controlled availability for the Webex Calling AI receptionist. These were plans at the time, not confirmation of current launch status. |
| September 4, 2026 | Webex documented a new Agentic Apps category | The category is described as based on MCP and A2A, with agent capability discovery, context sharing, and coordination across Webex and enterprise systems. |
The dates matter: the contact-center agent announcement, collaboration announcements, and later Agentic Apps documentation describe different milestones. A target date in an older announcement does not by itself show that a feature is available today.

How Webex describes Agentic Apps and protocols
Webex says Agentic Apps use the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and Agent-to-Agent (A2A). In the App Hub description, these protocols support agents discovering capabilities, sharing context, and coordinating actions across Webex and enterprise systems. In practical terms, the model is broader than a single assistant answering a question: it is intended to let agents work with tools and other agents within enterprise workflows.
Webex for Developers maintains a dated, continuously updated record of MCP server availability across Webex services and external platforms. That page includes a Webex Suite availability update for Codex in September 2026. Because the list changes over time, it should be checked directly for the latest service-by-service status rather than treated as a permanent integration catalog.

Which enterprise apps Cisco has named
Cisco has named different applications in different announcements, so the lists should be read as dated examples rather than a verified current integration matrix.
- March 2025 workflow examples: Salesforce, ServiceNow, and Jira.
- September 2025 Webex Suite integration story: Amazon Q index, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and Salesforce.
Cisco described access to enterprise data and workflow automation, but those announcements do not establish current entitlement, availability, or configuration requirements for every customer. The named apps also do not prove that all workflows can be automated in the same way or without administrator setup.

Is Webex AI Agent Studio available now?
Webex’s current “What’s New” page labels AI Agents for Collaboration as “Coming Soon.” It describes agents that businesses, teams, and individuals can create in AI Agent Studio to connect to business systems and automate work across voice, video, and digital interactions. That status applies to the offering as described on that page; it should not be extended to every Webex agent, integration, or separately released capability.
The reviewed announcements do not establish a single current launch date or universal availability for everything grouped under agentic AI. They also do not establish current pricing, licensing tiers, or geographic eligibility. Organizations evaluating deployment should confirm the status and requirements for the specific capability with current Cisco or Webex documentation.

What enterprise buyers should verify
Before treating the framework as ready for a particular workflow, check the specific agent, integration, and deployment status rather than relying on the broad label. Useful questions include:
- Can the required team create or use the relevant agent in its current Webex environment?
- Is the needed enterprise system supported for the intended workflow, and what configuration or permissions does it require?
- Does the use case involve voice, video, messaging, or another channel, and is that channel covered by the capability being evaluated?
- What administrative controls and human oversight are available for the actions an agent can take?
- Is the feature generally available, in controlled availability, or still listed as coming soon for the customer’s region and account?
The public descriptions establish Cisco’s direction and named examples, but do not provide a like-for-like performance comparison or enough deployment detail to rank Webex against competing enterprise agent platforms.
