The Chrono Trigger HD-2D project described in reporting is a short fan-made video concept, not a released, playable full-game remake. As a result, there is no verified platform list, save system, save-transfer method, or update schedule for a full-game version. Those details should not be confused with features of Square Enix’s separate official Steam edition.
What is the Chrono Trigger HD-2D fan project?
Reporting describes creator Dott’s HD-2D work as a short video demonstration. The report said no playable demo was planned at the time it was published; it does not establish that a full remake was released later. The available account therefore supports calling it a fan concept video, not a downloadable Chrono Trigger remake. Vandal’s report

A separate fan project recreates the End of Time scene. That limited scene recreation is not the same project as the HD-2D video, and its status or download availability should be confirmed on its creator’s own page rather than inferred from a repost or video. Vandal’s report
Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?

The HD-2D concept is not documented as a playable full game. Since the reported work is a video concept, there is no established platform list for a full-game fan release. A platform mentioned for the separate End of Time recreation would not establish support for the HD-2D project.

Do saves work, or can progress transfer between devices?
No save-file system or transfer method for a playable full-game HD-2D fan release is documented. Features of Square Enix’s official Steam edition are separate and should not be attributed to the fan concept.
For comparison, Square Enix’s Steam listing describes autosave and Steam Cloud for its official Chrono Trigger edition. Square Enix Support says Steam players may be unable to save after reaching a 1 GB game-save limit and suggests deleting some saves or disabling Steam Cloud Saves. That support guidance concerns the official Steam product, not fan-project saves. Official Steam listing · Square Enix Support: Steam save-file limit

Are updates available?
No verified update schedule or changelog for a playable full-game HD-2D fan release is established. Official Steam updates and support materials concern Square Enix’s commercial edition, not the fan concept. For current information about a specific fan project, check the creator’s own page; reporting or reposts may not reflect present availability. Official Steam listing · Vandal’s report

The available information does not support a categorical legal conclusion about an unidentified fan project. Square Enix’s official Steam edition is a separate commercial product, released February 27, 2018. Its listing describes updated controls, higher-resolution graphics and sound, the Dimensional Vortex and Lost Sanctum dungeons, autosave, and Steam Cloud. These are features of the official edition, not evidence about the fan concept. Official Steam listing
