If Chrome’s print preview cuts off the right side, open More settings and check the paper size, scale, and margins. Compare Fit to printable area with Fit to paper, then save only after the preview shows the full content. If the preview is complete but a physical print is cropped, the problem is likely in the printer’s paper or scaling settings instead.
Fix the clipping in Chrome’s print preview
- Open the webpage in Chrome and choose Print. Check the preview before saving: note whether the right edge is already missing.
- Expand More settings and make sure Paper size matches the page you intend to create, such as Letter or A4.
- Compare the available scale or fit choices, including Fit to printable area and Fit to paper. Chromium describes the first as fitting content within the paper’s printable area and the second as fitting it to the paper size. Which works best depends on the page, so check the right edge, text size, and page count after each change. Chromium print preview interface
- Review Margins and check the preview again. If the content still extends beyond the page, try a smaller scale or a different fit option.
- Turn off Headers and footers only if you do not need them or they appear to affect the layout. Chrome’s print dialog provides this option, but disabling it is not a general, confirmed fix for right-edge clipping. - When the preview shows the complete page, choose Save as PDF as the destination and save the file.
An official state guide uses Fit to paper for a full Letter-size page as an example. Treat it as one option to try, not a universal fix for every site. Washington State guide

Find out whether Chrome, the webpage, or the printer is clipping it
Compare the same content at three points: Chrome’s preview, the saved PDF opened in a PDF viewer, and—if relevant—the physical print. This isolates where the edge disappears.

- Preview looks complete, but the saved PDF does not: Check the PDF in another viewer and confirm you saved the intended pages and settings.

When only one website clips
If other pages preview correctly but one site loses its right edge, that site’s print layout may be involved. Web authors can use the CSS @page rule to set printed page size and margins; Chrome supports this rule. That makes site-specific print styling a possibility, not a confirmed cause for a page you have not inspected. Chrome for Developers

If you control the website, inspect its print stylesheet and @page rules. If you do not, try another paper size or fit setting, or ask the site owner for a print-friendly version.
