How the displays differ
The vivo S2 5G has the larger panel at 6.83 inches, compared with 6.77 inches on the Phone (3a). vivo also lists a resolution of 2800 × 1260, while Nothing describes its display as FHD+. Both manufacturers specify refresh rates up to 120 Hz; Nothing calls its rate adaptive.
The numbers establish a size and stated-resolution difference, not which screen will look better to you. Brightness, color tuning, software behavior and viewing conditions also affect the experience, and this comparison does not establish how the displays perform side by side.

Camera hardware: zoom versus a simpler rear setup
Nothing lists three rear-camera roles: a 50 MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 50 MP telephoto camera with 2× optical zoom, and an 8 MP ultra-wide camera. vivo lists a 50 MP main camera and a 2 MP secondary rear camera. Both phones have a manufacturer-listed 32 MP front camera.
The Phone (3a) therefore has more specified rear-camera options for framing subjects, including a dedicated telephoto and an ultra-wide. That does not prove it takes better photos: megapixel counts and lens roles do not account for image processing, sensor behavior or results in different lighting.
Battery capacity and charging are not the same as battery life
vivo lists a 7,050 mAh battery for the S2, against 5,000 mAh for the Phone (3a). Nothing specifies faster wired charging on paper—50 W versus vivo’s 44 W—but these ratings do not establish real-world endurance or how long a full charge takes. Screen use, network conditions, software and charging behavior all matter; no like-for-like battery test is established here.

Processor and durability: what the specifications do and do not show
The Phone (3a) uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 3, while the S2 uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 7360-Turbo. Chip names alone are not enough to declare a performance winner. If gaming or demanding apps are decisive, look for independent tests of the exact regional models and software versions you are considering.
Nothing lists an IP64 dust- and water-resistance rating for the Phone (3a). The retrieved S2 specification extract does not confirm an equivalent rating; that absence is not evidence that the phone has no protection. Verify the exact regional model’s rating and warranty terms, and do not treat IP64 as waterproofing or a guarantee against damage.
India prices: treat the displayed figures as snapshots
Prices shown for these phones are not a clean, guaranteed like-for-like comparison. On 7 October 2026, 91mobiles displayed ₹24,999 for the Nothing Phone (3a) and ₹39,940 for the vivo S2 5G on its comparison page. Those are third-party page figures, not durable market averages or manufacturer-confirmed current offers.

Nothing Support says the Phone (3a) package includes the phone, a Type-C cable, safety information, a pre-applied screen protector and a SIM tray ejector. Nothing says other wired chargers can be used and recommends a branded charger supporting PPS for optimal charging. The vivo store listing includes a charger, phone case, cable and other items in the box contents.
