The best LG phone holster is the one made for your exact model and, where required, the exact case. A listing that says only “LG” is not enough: camera cutouts, button placement, thickness and belt-clip geometry vary across the G, V, K and other lines.
Two documented examples illustrate the rule. Turtleback lists a leather vertical belt-clip holster for the LG G6, while Encased states that its V40 holster fits only when the phone is inside an Encased SlimShield case. Treat both as model-specific examples, not universal recommendations, and verify the live seller listing before paying.

What to buy first: a verified model-and-case match
Start with compatibility, then choose style. Read the phone’s model name and model number in Settings > System > About phone (the wording can vary by Android version), or check the label on the original box. Record the exact model, not just the family name: “V40” and “V60,” for example, are different phones, and a G6 holster is not evidence that a G7, G8 or another G-series phone will fit.
Measure or note the phone with the case installed. A holster designed around a bare handset can be too tight once a rugged case is added; a pouch sized for a thick case can let a bare phone move and expose its screen. If the listing names a required case, assume that requirement is strict unless the seller publishes measurements proving otherwise.

- Exact phone: match the complete model name and regional variant shown by the seller.
- Case condition: confirm whether the holster is for a bare phone, a named case, or a range of dimensions.
- Openings: check that the camera, fingerprint sensor, charging port and buttons remain reachable.
- Retention: identify the closure (snap, flap, magnetic, elastic or zipper) and whether it can open accidentally.
- Belt attachment: confirm clip width, loop style and whether the clip is fixed or swivels.
Documented LG holster examples
The available product information supports two concrete, model-specific examples. It does not establish current price, inventory, durability, dimensions or a universal ranking. Use the table as a starting point for verification rather than as a claim that either item is currently in stock.

Because the evidence does not provide comparable measurements or testing, it would be misleading to call one example the most protective, most durable or best value. Make that decision from the specifications and seller terms on the live listing.
Why “available now” is difficult for LG phones
LG Electronics closed its mobile phone business. Its U.S. mobile-product FAQ says LG would not introduce new phone models and that phones and tablets would stop being sold after remaining inventories were depleted. The same FAQ warns: Supplies may be limited for various accessories, such as protective cases.

That statement makes availability seller- and model-dependent. An old listing can remain searchable after stock has disappeared, while a small specialist seller may still have new old stock or a compatible third-party product. LG’s discontinued-phone page provides model information, support, warranty and parts/accessory resources, but it does not establish that a particular holster is available.

LG also says, in that FAQ, that a current LG phone will continue to work with its service provider. Treat this as LG’s statement, not a guarantee about a specific carrier, network band, software support period or service in your country. None of those factors confirms holster fit.
Identify the right dimensions before opening a listing
Read the model information on the phone
- Open Settings and search for About phone, Phone information or a similar label.
- Write down the model name and model number exactly, including letters, numbers and regional suffixes.
- Remove any uncertainty caused by a carrier name or nickname; sellers usually index by the manufacturer’s model designation.
Account for the case
Measure the phone in the case if the holster will be used that way. Measure height, width and total thickness at the thickest point, including raised corners or a belt ring. Compare those figures with the seller’s internal dimensions, not the external dimensions of the pouch. If no internal dimensions are published, ask the seller before ordering and keep the response with your purchase record.
Check the camera and controls
Place the listing’s photographs beside your phone. A camera opening that is slightly misplaced can block a lens or flash even when the handset slides in. Verify access to the charging port and side buttons if you plan to use the phone without removing it from the holster. A flap that covers a fingerprint reader may force you to remove the phone each time you unlock it.

Vertical belt holsters
A vertical design keeps the phone aligned with the belt and is the format documented for the G6 example. It can work well when you sit or move through narrow spaces, but the phone’s length extends downward. Confirm that the clip or loops fit your belt and that the flap clears the phone’s top edge.

Horizontal belt holsters
A horizontal pouch spreads the phone along the belt and may be easier to reach while seated. It also occupies more belt width and can catch on armrests. Choose it only when the interior length and width match the cased phone.
Snap, flap, magnetic and zipper closures
A snap or flap gives a clear closed position and is easy to inspect. Magnetic closures can be convenient, but check that the magnet does not interfere with the phone’s charging accessories or compass readings and that the design keeps the handset from sliding out. A zipper offers strong retention but requires two-handed access and can scratch a phone if the interior is not lined. Do not infer closure strength from product photos alone; look for the seller’s stated construction and return policy.
Swivel clips, fixed clips and belt loops
A swivel clip can follow body movement, while a fixed clip keeps the phone in one orientation. Loops are less likely to detach from a belt but take longer to remove. Match the attachment to your work clothing and test the release mechanism over a soft surface before carrying the phone outdoors.

Encased’s documented V40 holster is explicitly tied to the Encased SlimShield case. That means the case is part of the product system: the holster’s cavity and retention were specified around that case’s dimensions. Do not substitute a thin case, wallet case or rugged case without written confirmation. A bare V40 may be too small to retain safely, while a different case may be too large to insert.

When a listing names a case, buy the case and holster as a matched pair only if the combined price, return terms and availability suit you. If you already own the case, compare its measured thickness with the listing’s stated fit. If the seller uses language such as “compatible with” without naming a case or dimensions, treat the claim as unverified and ask for measurements.
Availability and seller checks you can perform
- Search by full model: use a phrase such as “LG G6 leather vertical belt clip holster” or “LG V40 SlimShield belt clip holster,” rather than “LG holster.”
- Open the live product page: confirm that an order button, quantity and shipping destination are shown today. Search-result snippets are not proof of inventory.
- Read the compatibility line: look for an exact model and any required case name. Reject listings that rely only on a broad “LG” label.
- Check measurements: compare internal dimensions with your cased phone and ask the seller about any missing measurement.
- Review return conditions: verify the return window, who pays return shipping and whether opened wearables are excluded.
- Save evidence: keep a screenshot or receipt showing the model and case requirement in case the delivered item differs.
Do not assume an official LG accessory page has stock merely because it lists a category. The captured LG accessories page showed zero catalog results, and no source confirms current inventory for a particular holster. Third-party availability can change independently.

Read the manual for your own LG model before using a belt clip or holder. The LG-H735 quick-start guide gives model-specific guidance: When a carry case, belt clip or holder is used for body-worn operation, it should not contain metal and should position the product at least 1.5 cm away from your body.
That instruction is for the LG-H735 guide and should not automatically be treated as a universal rule for every LG phone.

The same guide says to use genuine LG batteries, chargers and accessories approved for that particular phone model. Follow the manual supplied for your device, especially if you use a metal-reinforced case, magnetic mount or third-party charging accessory. Keep the phone at the separation distance specified by your model’s documentation, and stop using a clip that places pressure on the screen, overheats the phone or allows repeated drops.

How to test fit when the holster arrives
- Inspect stitching, seams, clip attachment and closure before inserting the phone.
- Insert the phone in its intended case and confirm that it reaches the bottom without force.
- Close the retention flap or snap and turn the holster upside down over a bed or sofa. The phone should remain secured without relying on friction from a damaged case.
- Operate the buttons, camera and charging connector while the phone is installed.
- Attach the holster to the belt you actually use. Walk, sit and bend; check that the clip does not open and that the phone does not press painfully into your body.
- Keep the packaging until you have completed the test and confirmed the return deadline.
Troubleshooting common fit failures
The phone will not slide in
Remove accessories such as a wallet insert, finger loop or external battery and retry with the named case only. If it still does not fit, do not stretch or cut the holster; compare your measurements with the listing and request a return for incompatibility.
The phone is loose
Check whether the listing required a specific case. A bare handset in a case-dependent holster may move enough to trigger accidental drops. Do not add improvised padding near buttons or the screen; obtain a correctly sized model.
The camera or port is blocked
Verify that you did not select a similar-looking model. Compare the opening to the phone’s camera bar and charging port, then contact the seller if the delivered item differs from the published photographs.

The belt clip detaches
Stop carrying the phone until the attachment is secure. Inspect for bent spring metal, loose screws or torn stitching, document the defect and use the seller’s return or replacement process. A second clip or adhesive patch is not a reliable safety repair.
What is and is not established about prices and durability
No source supplies a current price, stock count, laboratory drop result, water-resistance rating or long-term durability comparison for the documented LG holsters. Prices can vary with remaining inventory, seller location and shipping, so use the live listing as the authority. Do not pay a premium solely because a listing uses “vintage,” “rare” or “official” language unless the seller documents provenance and return rights.
Likewise, leather, synthetic leather and textile labels describe materials, not a guaranteed service life. Examine seam photos, closure construction and belt attachment, and treat seller warranties as separate from LG’s phone warranty. LG’s discontinued-phone resources do not certify third-party holster quality.
A practical decision framework
- Choose the G6 example path if you own an LG G6 and want a vertical leather belt holster; verify current stock, dimensions and case thickness before ordering.
- Choose the V40 matched-case path only if you own an LG V40 and are willing to use the specified Encased SlimShield case; it is not established as a bare-phone or cross-case fit.
- Choose another listing when the seller cannot state the exact LG model, interior dimensions or required case.
- Delay the purchase when the listing has no live inventory, unclear returns or contradictory model information. LG’s closure means replacement stock may not be replenished.
Final checklist before ordering any LG holster
- Exact LG model and regional variant recorded.
- Phone measured with the case installed.
- Listing states a matching model and, if applicable, a named case.
- Internal dimensions and camera/port access checked.
- Closure and belt attachment suit your daily movement.
- Body-worn guidance from your model’s manual reviewed.
- Live stock, delivery, price and return terms confirmed.
- Seller identity and order evidence saved.
For LG devices, compatibility is the meaningful definition of “best.” The G6 and V40 examples show why: one is identified by phone model, the other by phone-plus-case. Verify those details on the live listing, then choose the orientation and closure that match your routine.
