Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsStart with your monitors and desk, not a generic “top five” ranking: check each display’s weight without its stand, its VESA pattern, and the arm’s capacity for the exact configuration. The available examples support three useful options—not a defensible five-product ranking—so this guide presents them by sourced use case and explains what to verify before buying.
Check compatibility before comparing arms
A dual monitor arm can fail to fit even when its listing says it supports two screens. Confirm the display specifications and desk attachment against the documentation for the exact arm model and configuration.

- Weight: Use each monitor’s weight without its stand. Check whether the arm’s stated capacity is per monitor or combined, and make sure each display falls within its supported range.
- VESA pattern: Confirm the mounting pattern on both monitors and the arm. Humanscale identifies 75 mm and 100 mm patterns as common, but compatibility is not universal; verify the exact product’s supported pattern.
- Screen size and layout: Check the manufacturer’s screen-size guidance for a two-monitor setup. Decide whether you want the displays side by side or stacked; screen dimensions and shape affect positioning.
- Desk attachment and clearance: Check whether the clamp or grommet mount fits your desk, and whether the arm has room to move through the positions you need. Consult the exact model documentation for desk thickness, mounting requirements, and clearance.
- Adjustment: Compare the model’s positioning range and adjustment features with how you use the screens. Features and capacity vary between models.
Humanscale’s M8 Pro product information advises checking monitor weight without the stand and screen-size guidance for a dual setup. Treat those as model-level fit checks, not a substitute for checking another arm’s specifications.

Three sourced options, organized by use case
These examples are not a ranked top five. One comes from a dated 2025 tested roundup; the others illustrate manufacturer-described configurations. Check current specifications and availability before purchasing.
#1 Best Overall
- Compatible with Wide Screens - To ensure compatibility with the dual monitor mount, your each monitor must meet three conditions at the same time: First, computer screens size range: 13 to 32 inches. Second, screen weight range: 4.4 to 19.8 lbs. Third, the back of the monitor screen must have VESA mounting holes with a pitch of 75x75mm or 100x100mm.
- Regarding the compatibility with desks - Your desk must meet three conditions at the same time: First, desk material: Only wooden desks are recommended, plastic or glass desks cannot be used. Second, desk thickness range: 0.59" - 3.54". Third, the bottom of the desk should not have any cross beams or panels, as this will interfere with installation. We recommend carefully checking that your desk and monitors meets all above conditions before purchasing.
- Dual C-Clamp Hold - Worried your dual monitors might wobble or slip? Our upgraded base uses a larger platform plus a dual C-clamp structure to lock the dual monitor arm firmly to your desk. Each arm safely keeps your screens steady while you type, click and game—no shaking, no sliding, just a clean and secure setup you can trust every day. It also provides Grommet Mounting installation choice, both options ensure stable and secure fixation for your 0.59" - 3.54" desk.
- Full-Motion Adjustment For Comfortable View - Pull the screen closer when you’re deep in a spreadsheet, push it back to watch videos, or rotate to portrait for coding — moving everything smoothly with just one hand. The monitor stand offers +85°/-50° tilt, ±90° swivel and 360° rotation. Raise your monitor up to 15.75″ to support a healthy sitting posture. Whether you’re working from home, gaming through the night, or switching between video calls and documents, getting the screens to your natural line of sight helps relieve neck, shoulder and back strain so you can stay focused longer with less fatigue.
- Keep Your Desk Organized: By lifting both screens off the desktop, this dual monitor stand opens up valuable space for your keyboard, notebook, docking station or a simple, clutter-free work area. Built-in cable management guides wires along the arms, keeping cords out of sight and out of the way. Enjoy a tidy, modern workstation that looks as good as it feels to use.
| Option | Why consider it | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Ergotron LX Dual Stacking Arm | A sourced example for a stacked layout. Tom’s Guide named it in its 2025 roundup for readers who prefer stacking monitors. | Confirm the exact model’s current capacity, supported display dimensions, VESA fit, desk attachment, and clearance in Ergotron’s desk-mount catalog. The roundup recommendation is dated, not a current overall-winner claim. |
| Humanscale M8 Pro Dual Monitor Arm | Humanscale describes an optional crossbar dual-monitor configuration. | For that stated configuration, Humanscale lists support for two monitors up to 12 pounds each. Verify that the live listing and configuration you intend to buy still specify this capacity, and confirm screen-size guidance and mounting fit on the product page. |
| Vari Dual-Monitor Arm | Tom’s Guide included it in its 2025 tested roundup as an option for a two-monitor setup. | That recommendation is the publication’s dated judgment, not an independent test here. Check Vari’s current model documentation for weight capacity, supported geometry, VESA pattern, adjustment, and desk fit. |
Tom’s Guide’s September 11, 2025 monitor-arm roundup offers additional dated context, but it does not establish a comprehensive current ranking. Ergotron also publishes a model comparison; use exact model documentation to confirm live specifications.
Choose side-by-side or stacked placement
Side by side
This arrangement places the screens next to one another. Before choosing an arm, check the combined screen widths, the arm’s guidance for two displays, and the desk space available for their movement. A desk clamp that fits is not enough if the screens cannot move into the positions you need.
Rank #2

- Two Ways to Install: We offer two desk mounting options: C-clamp mounting for desks 0.39″–2.76″ thick, or grommet base mounting for desks 0.39″–2.76″ thick. With straightforward instructions, you can set up your vesa monitor mount effortlessly, making it a hassle-free addition to your desk. We only recommend installing it on a wooden desk, preferably with no crossbeam blocking the underside.
Stacked
Stacking places one screen above the other. The Ergotron LX Dual Stacking Arm is a sourced example for this layout, but confirm the exact arm’s supported configuration and adjustment range. Do not assume that a dual arm intended for side-by-side placement can safely or conveniently stack displays.
