Chiranjeevi has condemned an AI-manipulated video associated with “Chuttamalle” from Devara: Part 1 and said he will raise the issue with Telugu film industry bodies. What happened in the “Chuttamalle” video?
News reports describe an altered video using footage associated with “Chuttamalle,” the song from Devara: Part 1, that manipulated Janhvi Kapoor’s appearance in a degrading, sexually explicit manner. India Today reported that the clip was taken down, but that does not establish that every copy or re-upload disappeared. India Today and The Hindu covered the incident.

What did Chiranjeevi say?
In a statement on X dated October 3, 2026, Chiranjeevi said: “I am deeply disturbed by the use of AI to create degrading and morphed videos of a woman. Such acts are cruel, shameful and completely unacceptable. I strongly condemn them.” The Indian Express reproduced the statement and identified his X post. The Indian Express
He said he would take the matter to the Telugu Film Chamber, the Producers’ Council and affiliated industry bodies, and recommend forming a dedicated committee and support cell. He described the proposed group as a way to support affected people, coordinate removal efforts and work with cybercrime authorities on legal action. The statement announces an intention to recommend the bodies; it does not confirm that the committee or support cell has been created.

Chiranjeevi asked audiences not to watch, download, share or circulate the material—even to condemn it. Instead, report it to the platform hosting it and to cybercrime authorities. Reposting an abusive clip can extend its reach and further expose the person targeted.
