Is the CHiQ CRBM227NW3 any good?
It looks like a practical option if you want a narrow, modest-capacity fridge with a bottom freezer and retro styling. The manufacturer lists useful everyday features, including frost-free operation, adjustable glass shelves, electronic temperature control and Fast Cool. Those specifications describe what is included; they do not establish how well it cools compared with other refrigerators.

Use the available specifications to judge capacity and fit, then seek the full independent results if cooling performance, noise or comparative efficiency will determine your choice. The public CHOICE listing shows $799, but that is not a verified current offer; check the delivered price and local availability before buying.

How much space does the CRBM227NW3 have?
CHiQ lists 231 L of total usable capacity: 161 L in the refrigerator and 70 L in the freezer. The freezer is at the bottom and has three drawers. Other listed storage details include one crisper, a wine rack and a twist ice tray.

At 231 L, it is an extra-small model by CHOICE’s under-300-L classification. Check that the 161 L fridge section and 70 L freezer meet your household’s actual storage needs; total capacity alone can obscure the split.

Will this fridge fit in my kitchen?
The product measures 540 mm wide × 1765 mm high × 627 mm deep. CHiQ specifies the depth without the handle, so measure the full installed depth of the unit as supplied rather than relying on that figure alone. CHOICE’s recommended installation envelope is larger: 640 mm wide × 1820 mm high × 680 mm deep.

CHiQ’s model sheet calls for 50 mm of clearance at the rear and on each side. The manual specifies freestanding installation only, so do not recess or build the unit into cabinetry. Before purchase, check the route through doorways and hallways as well as the final space, including room for the doors to open and for ventilation.

- Check the floor is level and strong enough, and make sure a grounded outlet is reachable.
- Keep ventilation openings clear and install the refrigerator freestanding.
What features and controls are listed?
The manufacturer’s specification sheet lists frost-free operation, multi-air flow, electronic temperature control, Fast Cool, adjustable glass shelves and interior LED lighting. These are feature descriptions, not independent evidence of cooling consistency, recovery time or food-preservation performance.
The manual describes temperature settings from 1 to 5, with 5 the coldest and setting 3 recommended for normal use. Fast Cool can run for up to 30 hours before the unit returns to the previous setting. Follow the manual for operation; the listed settings do not guarantee a particular internal temperature under every load or room condition.

The public page does not expose detailed test results, so the figure should be treated as the listed claim rather than a publicly verifiable independent measurement. Your actual electricity use and cost depend on conditions such as room temperature, usage and your electricity tariff.
For a meaningful comparison, check another model’s energy label and annual-use figure on the same basis, then apply your own electricity rate. Do not infer that this refrigerator is more efficient than another model from its star rating alone.

What is the warranty?
CHiQ’s model specification sheet states three years of fridge coverage. It describes compressor coverage as three years of parts and labour, followed by seven additional years for compressor parts. Because the written warranty supplied with a specific purchase governs, confirm the current terms, exclusions and service arrangements with the seller before ordering.

- Capacity: Confirm that 161 L of fridge space and 70 L of freezer space suit your household and shopping habits.
- Installation: Compare the product dimensions and required clearances with the actual space, and remember that the stated depth excludes the handle.
- Independent evidence: CHOICE’s detailed rating, test scores, noise information and test standard are not publicly shown on its listing. If these matter, check whether you can access the full results.

Installation and care notes
After unpacking or transport, the manual says to leave the refrigerator upright for four hours before connecting it. Once switched on, allow 4–6 hours to cool before adding food. Keep the ventilation openings clear, and do not use mechanical devices to speed up defrosting.
The unit uses R600a refrigerant, which is flammable. Avoid damaging refrigerant tubing and leave repairs to authorized or qualified personnel. The manual specifies domestic use and connection to a grounded outlet.
