China Construction Bank After-Hours Quote: What EUR 1.08 and −0.92% Mean

The exact quote in the headline—EUR 1.08 and a 0.92% decline—cannot be confirmed from the available dated reporting. A secondary report instead put China Construction Bank at EUR 1.09 after hours on October 6, 2026, unchanged from its prior close, and listed EUR 1.08 as the bid and EUR 1.10 as the ask. That makes EUR 1.08 a possible bid rather than the last traded price, but it does not establish what the headline’s figure represented.

Is EUR 1.08 the confirmed after-hours price?

No. The exact EUR 1.08 price paired with a 0.92% decline is unverified. AD HOC NEWS reported a Lang & Schwarz observation at 20:49 CEST on October 6, 2026 (18:49 UTC): EUR 1.09, unchanged against a EUR 1.09 prior close. The same report listed a EUR 1.08 bid and a EUR 1.10 ask. This is secondary reporting, not a captured primary venue feed.

A bid is the price buyers were offering; an ask is the price sellers were seeking. Neither is necessarily the last transaction. The report therefore supports a nearby EUR 1.08 bid, but not the claim that EUR 1.08 was the last price at the headline’s timestamp. It also does not verify the stated −0.92% move. Without a matching timestamped quote and calculation convention, that percentage should not be treated as an established market change.

Which China Construction Bank listing does the quote refer to?

China Construction Bank has two distinct listed share classes, so a general reference to “CCB stock” is incomplete when checking a price:

Share class Exchange and ticker Trading currency
H-shares Hong Kong Stock Exchange, ticker 939 (HKEX code 00939) Hong Kong dollars
A-shares Shanghai Stock Exchange, ticker 601939 Renminbi

These identifiers are given in CCB’s official investor-relations FAQ and HKEX issuer records. The EUR figure in the secondary report is a separate after-hours venue quote; it should not be assumed to be the official closing price of either the Hong Kong H-share or Shanghai A-share.

How to verify a dated price move

  1. Identify the line: check whether the quote is for the Hong Kong H-share (939) or Shanghai A-share (601939), or for a separate EUR-quoted venue.
  2. Check the timestamp and venue: match the quote time and time zone to the report. The October 6 observation above was at 20:49 CEST, after the regular exchange trading day.
  3. Determine the quote field: distinguish last price, bid, and ask. A displayed bid is not proof of a trade at that price.
  4. Compare like with like: use the same share class, venue, currency, and price basis for both the current figure and its comparison point. Do not infer a prior close from the −0.92% claim without the underlying timestamped figures.

For Hong Kong exchange-day data, HKEX’s End of Day Summary describes daily high, low, closing price, and adjusted turnover for Main Board and GEM securities. It can help check an H-share’s exchange-day close; it does not establish a separate Lang & Schwarz after-hours quote.

What official filings can—and cannot—confirm

HKEX issuer-search records identify CCB by stock code 00939 and include a Half-Year Report 2026 dated September 28, 2026, and a monthly return dated September 30, 2026. Those filings provide issuer and reporting context, not confirmation of the EUR after-hours price or percentage move. CCB’s FAQ says its H-shares listed on the Hong Kong Main Board on October 27, 2005, and its A-shares listed in Shanghai on September 25, 2007.
