That is lower per ounce than the 12.4 oz Cheez-It listing, illustrating why shoppers should compare the specific package sizes and prices available to them rather than assume one unit-price result applies to every box.

What customer reviews say about taste and texture
The available comments offer impressions, not a reliable verdict. In a verified-purchase Walmart review dated October 26, 2025, a customer described Great Value crackers as “a lighter, crispier cracker with an airy crunch” and “saltier and less greasy than Cheez-its,” while also saying, “They don’t taste the SAME as the brand ones.” Those are one reviewer’s preferences, not findings from a controlled comparison.
Other reviews on the Great Value listing differ: some say the flavor resembles name-brand cheese crackers, while another says salt comes through before the cheese and wishes the cheese taste were stronger. The disagreement matters because “better” can mean a stronger cheese flavor to one person and a lighter, crispier or saltier cracker to another.

- Price: Great Value was cheaper per ounce in the dated Walmart listing snapshot.
- Crunch and texture: One reviewer found Great Value lighter and crispier; that impression is anecdotal.
- Salt and greasiness: The same reviewer found it saltier and less greasy, but other shoppers may prefer a different balance.
- Cheese intensity: Reviews disagree on whether Great Value tastes close to Cheez-It and whether its cheese flavor is strong enough.
There is no controlled independent taste test in the available evidence, so it cannot establish an objective taste winner. If flavor is decisive, try both fresh products side by side and judge them on the qualities you care about.
Can either cracker be called healthier?
Not on the available information. A matched comparison of the current ingredient lists and Nutrition Facts panels was not established. The Great Value listing described the crackers as made with 100% real cheese but did not expose a full ingredient list or nutrition panel. An official Cheez-It result concerned Original snack packs and identified wheat, milk and soy; it does not provide a like-for-like comparison with the 12.4 oz Great Value box.

To compare nutrition, use the current packages and check serving sizes alongside calories, sodium, saturated fat, protein and ingredients. Without those matched labels, claims that either product is healthier, lower in sodium or nutritionally superior are unsupported.
