To check your Google Play Points, open the Play Store app, tap your profile picture, then Play Points and Use. You’ll see your points balance and its expiration date. Points can be exchanged for Google Play credit and other rewards, but Google’s instructions do not describe converting them into a general Google Play gift card.
How to check your Google Play Points
- Open the Google Play Store app.
- Tap your profile picture in the top-right corner, then tap Play Points.
- Tap Use to view your points balance and expiration date.
- To review past activity, open More, then Points history.
- To see current ways to earn points, open Earn. The offers and earning details shown there can vary.
Google’s instructions for tracking points are in its Google Play Points help page.

What Play Points can be redeemed for
The rewards catalog may include Google Play credit, in-app or in-game items, coupons that discount eligible in-app or in-game purchases, and partner vouchers. Which offers appear depends on your country and the program’s availability there; there is no universal points-to-credit rate or voucher catalog to assume. Google says a grayed-out item means you do not have enough points to redeem it.
Google Play credit you receive by exchanging points expires one year after it is issued. Points spent on in-app or in-game items, or used to support a cause, cannot be refunded. See Google’s instructions for using Play Points on Android for redemption details.

Play Points, Play balance, and gift cards are different
| What it is | Where to check | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Google Play Points | Play Store app → profile picture → Play Points → Use | Rewards points that may be redeemed for eligible catalog offers. Program availability and rewards vary by country. |
| Google Play balance | On the web, go to play.google.com → profile icon → Payment & Subscriptions → Play Balance | Spendable credit for eligible Google Play content. Credit exchanged from points expires after one year. |
| Google Play gift card | Check the card or code in the market where it was purchased | A separate prepaid product that adds value to Google Play balance when redeemed; it is not the same as Play Points or points-derived credit. |
Google’s Play balance instructions explain how to check your credit online. A gift card is one way to add balance, not a form that points automatically take when redeemed.
What Google Play gift cards and balance can be used for
Gift cards and digital gift codes are available only in supported markets. Google says to get them from authorized retail partners; cards generally must be redeemed and used in the country and currency where they were purchased. Availability and terms differ by market. See Google’s gift card availability and purchase guidance.

Play balance can pay for eligible Google Play content, subject to country and currency rules. It cannot be used to buy hardware in the Google Store, top up another payment method, or purchase Google Play or specialty gift cards in the Play app. Some subscriptions do not accept stored value. Google lists the applicable categories and restrictions in its guide to what you can buy with Play balance.

Play Points is a country-dependent program, so it may not be available for every account or location. Google’s program eligibility information describes where it is offered. If you only meant to check spendable credit, use the separate Play Balance page instead of the Play Points screen.
