The cheapest internet plan in Los Angeles depends on your exact address and whether you qualify for an assistance program. Current offers include Spectrum plans advertised from $30 a month and a limited County community-broadband rollout with qualifying-household plans from $25 a month. Neither price is guaranteed citywide: check serviceability and the full bill for your address before choosing.

How to find the cheapest plan at your address
- Check your exact service address with several providers. Availability can differ by building or block. For WeLink, use the County rollout map; for other services, use each provider’s address checker.
- Compare the recurring price, not just the introductory offer. Record the promotional period and the standard monthly rate that follows. Spectrum’s Los Angeles prices are advertised for one year, and its terms say standard rates apply afterward.
- Compare the complete monthly bill. Include speed, data allowance, equipment and Wi-Fi charges, installation or activation, taxes and fees, and any contract or cancellation terms. For an assistance offer, check whether the lower price is available to your household and whether equipment costs change the value.
- Check the current broadband label and checkout terms. Confirm the provider’s stated price, speeds, data allowance, equipment, fees and promotional conditions before placing an order. The final total is specific to the address and offer.
- Apply any eligible assistance to the comparison. Ask the provider whether it participates in California LifeLine’s pilot or offers its own discount, then compare the amount you would actually pay for the plan.
Can you get low-income internet in Los Angeles?

California LifeLine subsidy
The CPUC program can reduce a qualifying household’s broadband bill by up to $20 per month, or up to $30 per month when broadband and voice are bundled by the same provider. It also offers up to $39 per year toward new connection charges. The stated minimum service standards generally include 100 Mbps download, 20 Mbps upload and 1,280 GB of monthly data, with specified exceptions. Provider participation is voluntary, so verify both enrollment and plan eligibility before relying on the subsidy. See the CPUC program terms.

- DUAL-BAND WIFI 6 ROUTER: Wi-Fi 6(802.11ax) technology achieves faster speeds, greater capacity and reduced network congestion compared to the previous gen. All WiFi routers require a separate modem. Dual-Band WiFi routers do not support the 6 GHz band.
- AX1800: Enjoy smoother and more stable streaming, gaming, downloading with 1.8 Gbps total bandwidth (up to 1200 Mbps on 5 GHz and up to 574 Mbps on 2.4 GHz). Performance varies by conditions, distance to devices, and obstacles such as walls.
- CONNECT MORE DEVICES: Wi-Fi 6 technology communicates more data to more devices simultaneously using revolutionary OFDMA technology
- EXTENSIVE COVERAGE: Achieve the strong, reliable WiFi coverage with Archer AX1800 as it focuses signal strength to your devices far away using Beamforming technology, 4 high-gain antennas and an advanced front-end module (FEM) chipset
- OUR CYBERSECURITY COMMITMENT: TP-Link is a signatory of the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) Secure-by-Design pledge. This device is designed, built, and maintained, with advanced security as a core requirement.
Provider programs and federal Lifeline
- Spectrum Internet Assist: Spectrum lists 50 Mbps for $25 per month for qualifying households and says certain government-assistance recipients may qualify for $15 per month. Advanced WiFi may cost an additional $10 per month. Review the current program requirements and offer details.
- Access from AT&T: AT&T says California residents may qualify based on income or listed government programs where AT&T internet is available, and that annual recertification is required. Its support article, last updated June 4, 2025, does not establish a current Los Angeles price. Check AT&T’s eligibility information and current offer for your address.
- Federal Lifeline: USAC lists up to $9.25 in broadband support, but the discount depends on provider participation and program conditions; it is not automatically applied to every home internet plan. Check USAC’s Lifeline requirements and ask the provider how the benefit applies.
Why advertised prices do not settle the comparison
Cost is a significant barrier, but one statewide statistic should not be mistaken for a Los Angeles estimate: 61% of surveyed respondents without home broadband cited cost as one reason for not having it, according to California State Digital Equity Plan survey data summarized by California Broadband for All.

A faster advertised download speed also does not necessarily mean better value: compare upload speed, data allowance, equipment, fees and the ongoing rate. For WeLink, the County’s stated fixed-price period through at least September 2027 is a useful point of comparison, but only for addresses within the rollout footprint.
