China Construction Bank (CCB) reportedly completed a RMB 40 billion issue of perpetual Additional Tier 1 (AT1) capital bonds on 22 September 2026. Separately, a news report put CCB shares at €1.08 on two German trading venues at different times: the Xetra close on 2 October and a Lang & Schwarz weekend quote on 3 October. The share-price snapshots are not evidence that the bond issue moved the stock.

What CCB reportedly issued

AD HOC NEWS reported that CCB completed the RMB 40 billion issue in China’s national interbank bond market on 22 September 2026. The report describes the securities as domestic undated Additional Tier 1 capital bonds, also known as perpetual AT1 bonds.

There is a related entry in HKEX’s disclosure index for CCB, listed under stock code 00939: an announcement dated 23 September 2026 titled “Announcement on the Completion of Issuance of the Domestic Undated Additional Tier 1 Capital Bonds (Second Tranche) (Bond Connect) in 2026.” That index entry corroborates that CCB filed a related completion announcement, but the available excerpt does not show the issue amount or the complete terms. The RMB 40 billion amount and the details below therefore remain attributable to AD HOC NEWS, rather than independently verified against the full filing.

Reported bond terms and what they mean

According to AD HOC NEWS, the issue has an initial five-year coupon of 1.83%, with the coupon resetting every five years. The report also says CCB has a conditional right to redeem the bonds from the fifth year, on interest-payment dates, and that proceeds are intended to replenish the bank’s AT1 capital, subject to applicable laws and regulatory approval.

Reported feature What the report says Qualification
Issue amount and completion RMB 40 billion; completed 22 September 2026 Reported by AD HOC NEWS; the HKEX index entry does not state the amount.
Initial coupon 1.83% for the first five years Reported by AD HOC NEWS; not confirmed here against the complete filing.
Coupon reset Every five years Reported by AD HOC NEWS; the full reset formula is not available in the cited material.
Redemption Conditional issuer redemption right starting in year five on interest-payment dates Reported by AD HOC NEWS; complete conditions are not available here.
Stated use of proceeds Replenish additional Tier 1 capital According to the report, subject to applicable laws and regulatory approval.

Undated or perpetual AT1 capital bonds are not ordinary shares and are not the same as conventional bonds with a stated maturity date. The word “perpetual” signals that the instrument has no stated final repayment date; it does not, by itself, establish that an investor will receive a particular return or that the issuer will redeem it on a particular date. The reported coupon resets and conditional redemption feature matter, but the complete terms—including the reset calculation and all redemption conditions—are needed to assess the instrument. The reported capital purpose is not evidence that regulatory approval has been granted.

What the €1.08 CCB share quote refers to

AD HOC NEWS gives two distinct observations, not one universal or continuously current CCB share price:

Venue Reported price Time reference
Xetra €1.08 closing price 2 October 2026
Lang & Schwarz €1.08 quote, with a €1.07 bid and €1.09 ask 3 October 2026 at 11:18 a.m. CEST, as reported

The venue and timestamp matter: a closing price and a weekend quote are separate market observations, and quotes can change. The €1.08 figure should therefore be read as a dated price snapshot, not as a venue-neutral current price. The report does not establish that the bond issuance caused any movement in CCB’s shares.

What is confirmed—and what remains unverified

  • CCB is named as the issuer in the AD HOC NEWS report and in the HKEX disclosure index, which identifies CCB with stock code 00939.
  • HKEX’s index lists a related second-tranche completion announcement dated 23 September 2026. Its available entry does not independently confirm the RMB 40 billion amount or the reported coupon and redemption terms.
  • The specific issue amount, coupon, reset schedule, redemption description, stated use of proceeds and German-market price snapshots are reported by AD HOC NEWS. The complete primary filing is needed to verify the bond’s full terms.

CCB’s official investor-relations announcement index is the issuer’s disclosure channel, but the available information does not expose the complete target filing. No conclusion about investment suitability, credit quality, investor returns or a share-price effect follows from the reported headline figures alone.
