They covered controller crafting, a French-language crash, animal-resource collection, winter event mail and shed, coop and barn upgrades. The publisher lists these as fixed. They are not confirmed problems on current saves, and the official notes give no reproduction steps or workarounds for new reports.
Bugs fixed in the Bandits & Bounties update
The update announcement from Playtonic Games (24 August 2026) lists these fixes. It also mentions further fixes beyond the examples it spells out, so treat the list as a selection, not a complete changelog.

The notes name the triggering conditions: controller input, French text, one specific heart scene, a large batch of butchering, the winter season, or upgrade placement. Treat these as the places to look if something similar happens to you.

- Rodeos to Romance. Making friends is a must in the Wilderness, relying on each other through the thick and the thin. But maybe you've got a yearnin' for more? With 18 romanceable characters, take a chance and grab love by the reigns.
- Buried Treasure. Did yer hear? There's treasure in the mines, for those who are brave enough to look for it. From precious metals and minerals to bandit stashes. Grab your pickaxe and venture out into the thrill of prospecting.
- Bounties: Wanted Posters at the Sheriff’s building. You accept a bounty, track a bandit in the wilderness, and return to Sheriff Tom for a reward.
- Bandit events: Bandit camps can appear while you explore. Random robberies and shootouts can occur at the General Store, Butcher, Carpenter and Bank.
- Tools and crafting: a Toolbelt for crafting away from a crafting table, an Animal Trap, a Rock Tumbler that yields materials and occasionally rare gems, and a Tailoring Table for clothes and hats.
- Inventory: an Extra Large Bag that expands the inventory to four rows, and item counts that display beyond 9,999.
- Fishing: a special spot reached by boat from the docks on Tuesdays and Saturdays, with fish from every season.
- More NPC dialogue.
Earlier fixes, for context
Steam patch notes dated 16 June 2025 record older fixes. They covered:
- a random crash during a stickup;
- a soft lock in a train cart when entering Tom’s ninth heart scene on horseback;
- spouse and Jeb’s house state carrying over when you start a new file after returning to the main menu;
- a quest issue, a scarecrow range issue, newborn-animal quest counting, and town-hall donation display.
Other notes from June 2025 cover continuous flooring placement when holding a mouse button or controller input, a shipping-box interaction that could add an item when closing, and map slide and selector problems. These are fixed items from the official Steam announcement archive, which holds a longer history. They are not evidence of current bugs.

If you hit a problem now
- Note your setup. Record the platform, language, game version, and whether the save started before the update. This is general triage inferred from the conditions above, not an official procedure.
- Check you are on the current build. Look at the update listing on your storefront and compare it with your installed version before blaming an old patch-note defect.
- Isolate the trigger. If it matches a fixed item, such as controller crafting, a large butchering batch or upgrade placement, an out-of-date install is the likelier cause. Butchering fewer animals at a time is a cautious precaution, but the notes do not offer it as a workaround.
- Don’t improvise a repair. No official save-repair steps, reinstall guidance or support-ticket procedure appear in the notes. Avoid editing save files on the strength of unofficial advice.
Console availability
Playtonic announced Bandits & Bounties on console on 5 October 2026 and linked PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo storefronts. No platform-by-platform version numbers were published, so don’t assume every platform has the same build or patch timing. On PC, Steam is the listed storefront.

There is no bug survey to go on. One Steam review says the player had not encountered any bugs, apart from the occasional quest that doesn’t match what the NPC said. That is a single player’s experience, not a measure of stability.
