If you want an existing YouTube video or playlist to repeat while you watch, use YouTube’s built-in loop control; you do not need Castr or Gyre. If you want prerecorded videos broadcast continuously as a live stream for an audience, Castr and Gyre both offer cloud-based workflows. The better fit depends on the number of simultaneous streams, resolution, storage, playlists and scheduling you need.
First decide what “looping on YouTube” means
YouTube’s repeat control loops playback for a viewer. YouTube Help says, “When watching YouTube, you can play a video or playlist on repeat by looping it.” Use that option when you simply want to replay content already on YouTube: YouTube’s instructions for looping videos or playlists.

Castr and Gyre address a different task: a creator uploads prerecorded video, then sends it from the cloud to YouTube as a live broadcast. Viewers see a live stream, rather than a normal video playing repeatedly in the YouTube interface. Neither workflow guarantees more viewers, algorithmic lift or monetization.

When Castr is the better fit
Consider Castr if you want prerecorded looping alongside its broader live-video capabilities, such as multistreaming, bandwidth and hosting options. Its plan limits make capacity important: infinite loop mode is listed only for Premium and Ultra, with two and three concurrent prerecorded streams respectively. Check the applicable plan’s storage, bandwidth, file-duration and file-count limits before building a larger schedule. When Gyre is the better fit
Consider Gyre if the number of concurrent loops and HD-versus-4K capacity are central to your choice. Its published tiers state one HD stream on trial and Start, up to four HD or one 4K on Start+, and up to eight HD or two 4K on PRO+. Compare storage and playlist/scheduler access as well: the pricing page marks playlists and scheduling as available on the trial, Start+ and PRO+, but not Start. For a trial, account for its listed watermark and 20 GB storage.

How to choose a plan for your channel
- Confirm the use case. For personal replay, use YouTube’s loop control. For a public live broadcast from prerecorded files, compare cloud streaming services.
- Count simultaneous channels. Match the number of broadcasts you need at the same time to the plan’s stated concurrent-stream limit. More streams do not inherently mean more views or revenue.
- Set the resolution requirement. If you need 4K, compare the specific plan limits; Gyre states separate HD and 4K stream capacities, while Castr’s cited pricing details emphasize concurrent-stream and other plan limits.
- Check files and scheduling. Estimate your file sizes and duration, then verify storage, file limits, playlist support and scheduled-start or scheduler features against current plan terms.
- Verify destinations. Choose a service whose listed destinations include the platforms you actually use. Feature lists are vendor descriptions, not independent validation.
- Use the trial with its limits in mind. Castr’s seven-day Starter trial does not include the listed infinite loop mode. Gyre’s seven-day trial lists one HD stream, 20 GB storage and a watermark.
