In those reported impressions, the orange MTP-E740-4AV appears richer outdoors, and the teal 3AV shifts between green and blue depending on angle. The photos are useful for seeing how the design can read in everyday settings, but they do not establish a fixed color appearance under every light source.

Is the MTP-E740 based on the Seiko Time Sonar?
The translucent-dial effect has a visual resemblance to the Seiko Time Sonar, a comparison made in T3’s September 2026 launch coverage. T3 also notes that Casio has not officially connected the MTP-E740 to that design lineage. The resemblance is a comparison, not evidence that Casio copied, licensed, or confirmed inspiration from Seiko.
