The Case of the Golden Idol was reported as joining Google Play Pass on 16 October 2026, but Play Pass catalogs are country- and account-specific. The reliable test is the live Google Play details page for the official listing published by Playstack: Google displays a Play Pass logo at the top when that account can access the title through its subscription.
If you see the game on Google Play but no logo, check the exact listing, your Play country, the Google account that owns the subscription, payment status, and Play Store compatibility in that order. The publisher’s “Where to Buy” page still showing “No products available for this platform yet” appears to be out of date compared with the newer Android listing, so use the live Google Play page rather than that older message.

What the current Play Pass status means
Recent status reporting places The Case of the Golden Idol in Google Play Pass from 16 October 2026. A report published by iTechGuides on 17 October 2026 identified Playstack as the publisher and described the Android title as available through Play Pass. That status is time-sensitive: Google can add or remove titles, and the catalog can differ between countries.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsGoogle’s own inclusion signal is not a search-result label or a mention on a publisher page. On the app’s details page, Google says a title that is part of Play Pass has a Play Pass logo at the top. If the logo is absent, Play Pass is not currently recognizing that listing as included for the account and country being used, even if the app appears in ordinary Google Play search.

| Official listing with a Play Pass logo | The listing is included for the signed-in account and current Play country. | Install from that page while signed in to the subscribing account. |
| Official listing with no Play Pass logo | The title is visible in Google Play but is not being offered through Play Pass for that account at that moment. | Check country, account, subscription, payment and Play Store version. |

First, identify the exact app
Search Google Play for the complete title, The Case of the Golden Idol, rather than relying on a shortened search such as “Golden Idol.” Open the result and inspect the developer or publisher field. The listing relevant to this issue is the one published by Playstack.
- Open the Google Play Store on the Android device that you intend to use.
- Search for
The Case of the Golden Idol. - Open the result whose publisher is Playstack.
- Check the app icon, title and screenshots so that you are not viewing an unrelated game, a companion app or a similarly named result.
- Remain on that details page; the Play Pass status is shown there when Google recognizes the title as included.
Do not infer inclusion from a search card alone. Search results can show an app that is purchasable or installable through ordinary Google Play without granting Play Pass access. The details page is the authoritative place to check the logo.
Check for the Play Pass logo
At the top of the verified Playstack listing, look for the Play Pass logo. Google’s help guidance describes this logo as the way to identify an app that is part of the subscription. A missing logo is therefore a meaningful result, not merely a cosmetic difference in the search interface.

Your account and current Play country are being offered the title through Play Pass. Start the installation from that page. If installation still fails, the remaining issue is likely device compatibility, an account mismatch during installation, or a temporary Play Store error rather than catalog membership.
If the logo is absent
Continue with the checks below. Do not assume that the absence proves the game has never been in Play Pass. Google’s catalog can change, and the title may be included in one country or account while unavailable in another.
Verify the Google Play country
Play Pass availability and its catalog vary by country. Google also states that games, apps and offers may change as titles are added or removed. The country associated with your Google Play account, your current location and your billing profile can therefore affect what appears.

What to compare
- Play country: the country configured for the Google Play account.
- Current location: where the device and account are being used now.
- Billing profile: the country connected to the account’s payments setup.
- Subscription country: the market in which the Play Pass subscription was started.
These details can become inconsistent after moving countries, changing payment profiles or using a device that was set up under a different account. A country mismatch can explain why another person sees the Play Pass logo while you do not.
How to inspect the setting
- Open Google Play and tap your profile picture.
- Open Settings, then expand the account or general preferences section where Google displays country and profile information. Labels can differ by Play Store release.
- Check the country shown for the account currently selected in Play.
- Compare it with the country used for your active subscription and payment profile.
- If you have multiple Google accounts, repeat the check after switching to the account that owns Play Pass.
Do not repeatedly change countries just to test a catalog. Google applies country-change rules and may require a local payment method; changing the setting can affect other purchases and subscriptions. If the displayed country is wrong, correct the account and billing information through Google’s account tools, then allow Play Store data to update before checking the listing again.
Use the personal account that owns Play Pass
Play Pass access follows the subscribing Google account, not merely the Android device. Google says work and school accounts cannot subscribe, so an organization-managed account is not a substitute for the personal account that holds the membership.
- In Google Play, tap your profile picture to see the currently selected account.
- Switch to the personal Google account used when Play Pass was purchased.
- Open the Play Pass area or the subscription list and confirm that the membership appears under that account.
- Return to the Playstack listing and check for the logo again.
Family-group arrangements can also make the account you are using different from the account that paid for the subscription. If the membership is shared, verify that the account viewing the app is eligible under the family setup and that the family manager’s subscription is active.
Confirm that the subscription and payment are active
An expired, paused or payment-failed subscription can remove Play Pass benefits even though the app remains visible in ordinary Google Play. Check the subscription status for the same personal account you used in the previous step.
- Open Google Play and tap your profile picture.
- Choose Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
- Find Play Pass and inspect its status, renewal date and payment method.
- Resolve any declined payment, expired card or billing-profile warning.
- After the payment status is corrected, close and reopen Google Play and revisit the exact Playstack listing.
Make sure the billing country and Play country are consistent. A valid payment method alone does not make a title available if the account is assigned to a country whose catalog does not include it.

Check Android and Google Play Store requirements
Google lists Android 4.4 or newer and Google Play Store version 16.6.25 or newer as Play Pass requirements. These are baseline requirements, not a guarantee that every individual game will run on every device.
| Requirement | Minimum stated by Google | How to check |
|---|---|---|
| Android operating system | Android 4.4 or newer | Open the device’s Settings and view the Android version in the system or about-phone section. |
| Google Play Store | Version 16.6.25 or newer | In Google Play, open your profile picture, choose Settings, expand About and view the Play Store version. |
| Google account | Personal account for subscribing | Check that the selected account is the one with the active Play Pass membership. |
| Payment setup | Active subscription with a valid payment method | Review Payments & subscriptions in Google Play. |
Update the Play Store
- Open Google Play and tap your profile picture.
- Choose Settings, then expand About.
- Compare the displayed Play Store version with 16.6.25.
- If an update is offered, install it and reopen Google Play.
If the device is below Android 4.4, it does not meet Google’s stated Play Pass minimum. On newer Android versions, a missing badge is more likely to be related to the account, country or catalog than to the operating-system minimum, although the individual game may still have its own compatibility limits.
Refresh the account view without changing eligibility
Play Store can display stale account information after a subscription renewal, account switch or country change. Refreshing the app can make the current status appear, but it cannot add a title that is not in your regional catalog.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →- Close the Play Store completely and open it again.
- Confirm the correct Google account is selected before searching.
- Check the Play Store version again if the app has been updated recently.
- Open the Playstack listing directly from a fresh search and look for the logo.
- If the device has more than one Google account, test only the account that owns Play Pass rather than assuming the first account shown is correct.
Use these refresh steps after correcting a payment or account issue. Checking before the account change has propagated can produce the same missing-logo result even when the underlying subscription is valid.
Why the publisher’s “Where to Buy” page can disagree
The official Golden Idol “Where to Buy” page has been observed displaying “No products available for this platform yet” under Google Play. That statement conflicts with the newer report that an Android listing was available through Play Pass from 16 October 2026.
The two pages may simply have different update timing. A publisher-maintained availability page can remain unchanged after a store listing goes live, while Google Play reflects the current account and country. For this problem, use the live Google Play details page for the Playstack listing and its Play Pass logo as the operational test. Treat the publisher page as background information, not as proof that the Android version is unavailable.

Understand the difference between Play Pass access and a normal purchase
Seeing a purchase option does not establish Play Pass inclusion. Google Play can show a title for direct purchase even when the Play Pass logo is absent. Conversely, a title can be included in Play Pass for one country but offered only as a paid app in another.

| Access route | Account and country eligibility | Badge or payment signal | When it helps |
|---|---|---|---|
| Play Pass installation | Requires an eligible personal account, active subscription and a country whose catalog includes the title. | Play Pass logo on the official details page. | Use when the badge is present and the device meets Google’s requirements. |
| Direct Google Play purchase | Depends on the app being sold in your Play country and visible to your account. | Ordinary purchase price or install controls; no Play Pass logo is required. | Fallback when the listing is visible but Play Pass does not include it for your account. |
| No visible listing or no eligible route | Could reflect country, account, device or a catalog change. | No reliable inclusion signal. | Complete the checks and contact Google Play support if the result remains inconsistent. |
A direct purchase is relevant only if the official listing is visible and you are comfortable buying it outside the subscription. Do not treat a purchase button as evidence that Play Pass should cover the title.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Use the catalog-change explanation when every check passes
Google’s documented wording is that availability of games, apps and offers through Play Pass may vary by country and may change as new games are added or removed. This is the explanation to use when all of the following are true:
- You opened the Playstack listing for the exact title.
- The listing is visible in Google Play but has no Play Pass logo.
- Your Play country, location and billing profile are consistent.
- You are using the personal account that owns an active Play Pass subscription.
- Your payment method is valid.
- The device uses Android 4.4 or newer and Play Store 16.6.25 or newer.
At that point, the most accurate conclusion is not that your phone is broken. The title is probably unavailable to that account at that moment because the regional catalog has changed or the account has not been granted the current offer. Google’s Play Pass product page advertises “Over 1,000 games and apps,” but that headline is a broad catalog figure, not a promise that every title is available in every country.
What to send Google Play support
If the logo is still absent after the checks, contact Google Play support rather than relying on the stale publisher message. Provide enough detail for support to distinguish a catalog issue from an account or device problem.

- The exact app title: The Case of the Golden Idol.
- The publisher shown on the listing: Playstack.
- The Google account type, without sharing your password or payment-card details.
- The country shown in your Play profile and the country used for billing.
- Whether Play Pass appears active under Payments & subscriptions.
- Your Android version and Google Play Store version.
- A screenshot showing the listing and the missing Play Pass logo, with personal information redacted.
- The exact error message, if Google Play displays one.
- The date and approximate time you checked, because catalog membership can change.
Ask support to verify whether the Playstack listing is currently included in Play Pass for your specific country and account. This question is more precise than asking generally whether the game is “on Play Pass.”

Common mistakes that produce a false “not available” result
Searching a shortened title
Short searches can return unrelated apps or omit the official listing. Always verify the complete title and Playstack publisher.
Checking from the wrong account
Android devices often contain several Google accounts. The account shown first in Google Play may not own the subscription.
Assuming another country’s result applies to you
Catalog membership is regional. A screenshot or recommendation from another user does not prove that your Play country has the same offer.
Using the publisher page as a live store test
The “No products available for this platform yet” message can lag behind the actual Android listing. Check Google Play itself.
Confusing ordinary visibility with subscription inclusion
An app can be searchable and purchasable without carrying the Play Pass logo. Only the logo on the details page confirms inclusion for that account at that time.
Ignoring payment status
A subscription that was canceled, paused or affected by a failed payment may stop granting benefits while the app remains searchable.
Fast decision path
- Find the official listing: search the full title and confirm Playstack.
- Read the details page: the Play Pass logo means inclusion; no logo means continue troubleshooting.
- Check country: compare Play country, location and billing profile.
- Check account: switch to the personal account that owns Play Pass.
- Check subscription: verify active status and a valid payment method.
- Check software: use Android 4.4 or newer and Play Store 16.6.25 or newer.
- Recheck after updates: reopen Google Play and inspect the listing again.
- Escalate accurately: give Google Play support the listing, country, account context, versions and error message.
If the badge appears at any point, install from that official page. If it never appears after all checks, treat the title as unavailable through Play Pass for that account at that moment rather than assuming a hidden installation setting will fix it.
