Untuk mengosongkan ruang cakera pada Mac, semak dahulu kategori storan dalam macOS, kemudian padam fail yang tidak diperlukan atau pindahkan fail besar yang mahu disimpan. Akhir sekali, kosongkan Bin dan semak semula ruang yang tersedia. Anda boleh melakukan langkah asas ini menggunakan alat terbina dalam Mac; aplikasi seperti AVG TuneUp ialah pilihan tambahan, bukan keperluan.
1. Semak penggunaan storan Mac

- macOS Ventura 13 atau lebih baharu: pilih menu Apple > System Settings > General > Storage.
- Versi macOS yang lebih lama: pilih menu Apple > About This Mac > Storage.

Apple menyatakan kategori System Data—atau Other pada sesetengah versi—mengumpulkan fail Apple dan pihak ketiga yang tidak sesuai dimasukkan dalam kategori lebih khusus. Semak kategori dalam paparan storan dan gunakan butang More Info jika tersedia untuk melihat pilihan pengurusan bagi kategori itu. Utamakan kandungan yang anda kenal pasti dan memang tidak lagi diperlukan, bukannya memadam fail sistem secara manual.

3. Padam kandungan yang tidak diperlukan atau boleh dimuat turun semula
Semak Downloads dan media yang boleh diperoleh semula, seperti kandungan yang boleh dimuat turun semula daripada sumber asal. Pertimbangkan juga aplikasi yang tidak digunakan serta sandaran iPhone atau iPad lama yang tidak lagi diperlukan. Apple turut menyarankan pemeriksaan akaun pengguna dan fail kongsi untuk mencari kandungan yang boleh dibuang.
Sebelum memadam, pastikan fail itu bukan satu-satunya salinan yang anda perlukan. Memadamkan fail ke Bin sahaja belum menjadikan ruang itu tersedia—Bin perlu dikosongkan kemudian.

4. Pindahkan fail besar yang mahu disimpan
Jika anda mahu mengekalkan foto, video atau fail besar lain tetapi tidak memerlukannya pada Mac, pindahkannya ke peranti storan luaran. Apple menyenaraikan storan luaran sebagai salah satu cara mengurangkan penggunaan ruang dalaman tanpa memadam fail yang ingin disimpan.

Pilih pemacu yang serasi dengan sambungan Mac anda dan mempunyai kapasiti mencukupi untuk fail berkenaan. Sumber Apple tidak menetapkan model atau kapasiti pemacu tertentu, jadi semak sambungan, format dan kapasiti bagi pemacu yang anda pertimbangkan. Pastikan pemindahan selesai dan fail boleh dibuka dari pemacu sebelum membuang salinan asal.

5. Kosongkan Bin dan semak semula
- Buka Bin dan periksa kandungannya.
- Kosongkan Bin untuk menjadikan ruang fail yang dipadam tersedia.
- Kembali ke paparan Storage dan semak penggunaan sekali lagi.
Jika anda cuma memerlukan ruang sementara untuk tugas seperti memasang kemas kini, Apple menyatakan bahawa memulakan Mac dalam Safe Mode boleh membersihkan cache tertentu yang akan dicipta semula apabila diperlukan. Pengoptimuman iCloud
macOS boleh menggunakan iCloud untuk membantu menyediakan lebih banyak ruang pada Mac apabila diperlukan. Ini menggunakan ruang dalam pelan iCloud anda; jika ruang itu habis, anda perlu mengurus kandungan iCloud atau memilih ruang tambahan yang tersedia di rantau anda. iCloud bukan storan tanpa had atau semestinya percuma.
