Capital One QuicksilverOne charges a $39 annual fee, earns unlimited 1.5% cash back, and has no foreign transaction fee on purchases outside the United States, according to Capital One. It is aimed at people with fair credit, but that positioning is not an approval promise. The card is most attractive if you pay your balance in full and value straightforward rewards or overseas purchases; interest on a carried balance can quickly overwhelm the cash back.
What QuicksilverOne offers
Capital One’s current U.S. product page lists these key terms and features:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- Rewards: Unlimited 1.5% cash back on every purchase.
- Annual fee: $39.
- Purchase APR: 28.99% variable, as currently listed by the issuer. Your offer and rate may differ or change, so check the live application disclosures.
- Credit-line reviews: Capital One says cardholders will be automatically considered for a higher credit line in as little as six months. Consideration does not guarantee an increase.
- Other listed features: Free access to CreditWise and $0 fraud liability for a lost or stolen card.
Terms and features are from Capital One’s QuicksilverOne product page.
Does QuicksilverOne charge foreign transaction fees?
Capital One says QuicksilverOne has no foreign transaction fees for purchases made outside the U.S. That can be useful when traveling or shopping from an overseas merchant, but it is not a guarantee that every currency-related cost disappears. A merchant may offer to charge you in U.S. dollars through dynamic currency conversion; check the amount and currency at checkout before accepting that option. The issuer’s statement concerns its foreign transaction fee, not every possible exchange-rate or merchant-side cost.
#1 Best Overall
Capital One made this claim in its comparison article dated July 28, 2026: Quicksilver vs. QuicksilverOne.
Is the $39 annual fee worth paying?
At 1.5% cash back, $2,600 in eligible annual purchases produces $39 in gross rewards—the same amount as the listed annual fee. This is a simple break-even calculation, not a promise of net savings: it excludes interest and other costs, and assumes purchases earn the advertised rate. If your annual eligible spending is below that level, rewards alone do not offset the fee. If you would otherwise pay foreign transaction fees on overseas purchases, that benefit may also matter to your decision, but the amount saved depends on your spending and the alternative card’s terms.
Rank #2
- Ideal for Gifting
- Ideal for a bookworm
- Compact for travelling
Do not use rewards to justify carrying a balance. The product page’s currently listed 28.99% variable purchase APR makes paying in full especially important; interest costs can exceed the cash back earned. Check the live disclosure for the rate and terms that apply to your offer.
What “for fair credit” means—and what it does not
Capital One positions QuicksilverOne for fair credit. That describes the audience the issuer says the product is intended for; it does not establish your approval odds or guarantee that a particular score or credit history will qualify. The available sources provide no individual approval-rate data. Your approval, credit limit, and personalized APR cannot be determined from the product’s positioning alone.

Who should consider QuicksilverOne?
- It may fit: You are looking for a card Capital One positions for fair credit, can pay the statement balance in full, and value simple cash back or purchases outside the U.S. without an issuer foreign transaction fee.
- Look closely at the costs: You expect to carry a balance, spend too little for the rewards to offset the annual fee, or need certainty about approval or a specific credit limit. The published information cannot provide those personal guarantees.
- Compare alternatives: You may qualify for a no-annual-fee card, or another fair-credit card’s reward categories better suit your spending. Use each issuer’s current terms, not assumptions based on the card category.
