The Canon PIXMA TS9560a is a home-office and craft-oriented all-in-one whose main distinction is A3 printing in a relatively compact home-printer format. It also offers a 20-sheet automatic document feeder (ADF), duplex printing and several connection options. Those features make it worth considering if you regularly print oversized pages or scan multi-page documents; they matter less if your work is mostly occasional A4 printing. Canon publishes the specifications and cartridge types, but the available evidence does not establish independent print-quality results or the printer’s real cost per page.
What the TS9560a is designed to do
Canon Australia describes the TS9560a as a wireless print, copy and scan all-in-one, positioned for home-office and home-crafting use. Its headline capability is printing up to A3, while the ADF and flatbed scanning support everyday document work. This is an inkjet, so it combines text and colour printing with photo and craft-media options rather than focusing solely on high-volume office documents.

Canon’s Australian product page calls the series its first A3 inkjet all-in-one, but that is historical positioning for the TS9560 Series, not a verified launch date for the TS9560a refresh. The statement appears in Canon’s New Zealand announcement dated 21 September 2018.
Paper sizes and media: the reason to choose it
The TS9560a can print up to A3. Canon specifies a 100-sheet A4 cassette, a 100-sheet A4 rear input, and a rear tray that holds up to 50 A3 sheets. The rear tray also supports smaller sizes, including photo and square formats. The 4800 × 1200 dpi maximum print resolution is a manufacturer specification, not an independent assessment of output quality.

- CARTRIDGE-FREE PRINTING — Print lab-quality photos, graphics and creative projects; Get vibrant colors and sharp text with Epson's high-accuracy printhead and Claria ET Premium 6-color inks
- INK BOTTLES — Save on photos1 and creative projects with affordable in-house printing; All-in-one printer allows you to print 4" x 6" photos for about 4 cents each vs. 40 cents with traditional ink cartridges1
- LESS FREQUENT INK REPLACEMENT — Replacement ink bottles don't have to be changed nearly as often as ink cartridges¹; Printer, scanner and copier lets you print up to 6,200 color pages³
- PRINT FOR LONGER — Up to 2 years of ink in the box² (and with every replacement ink set) for fewer out-of-ink frustrations with this wireless printer
- ZERO CARTRIDGE WASTE — Epson EcoTank printer helps reduce the amount of cartridge waste ending up in landfills; Cartridge-free printer uses high-yield ink bottles; Each replacement ink bottle set is equivalent to about 100 individual ink cartridges⁴
For craft work, Canon names Restickable Photo Paper and Magnetic Photo Paper among the compatible creative media. Check the precise media size and compatibility before buying; support for A3 or photo paper does not mean every stock type or thickness is suitable.
Scanning and copying: useful ADF, modest capacity
A 20-sheet ADF lets you feed a small stack of originals for scanning or copying without placing each page on the glass. It is useful for occasional multi-page forms or household records, but its capacity is limited compared with office-focused machines. For books, fragile originals, or mixed-size pages, the flatbed remains the more flexible option.

Connectivity and everyday operation
Canon lists Wi-Fi, USB-B, wired LAN, Wireless Direct and memory-card slots. The 4.3-inch colour touchscreen provides on-device controls, and automatic duplex printing can reduce manual effort for two-sided jobs. The range of connections is helpful if the printer will be shared or used without relying exclusively on a wireless network; the best choice depends on where it will sit and which devices need access.

Canon Australia lists document print speeds of 15 ipm for black and 10 ipm for colour. These are manufacturer specifications, not independently measured results. Canon says actual speeds vary with configuration, interface, software, document complexity, print mode, coverage and paper, so they should not be treated as a guarantee for every job.

Ink costs and Australian price
Canon Australia lists a $279 recommended retail price for the black TS9560a and directs buyers to retailers for actual pricing. That figure is Canon’s RRP, not a verified current street price; check Australian retailers for stock and what they currently charge.
The compatible cartridges are PGI-680 black and CLI-681 colour, with standard and larger options including XL and XXL variants for some cartridges. The available specifications do not establish cartridge yields or a cost per page, so a reliable running-cost comparison requires the yield for the exact cartridge and a current local price. If you print infrequently, also consider whether buying a model with A3 support is worthwhile for your actual workload.

Setup and placement
Canon’s TS9560a setup guide recommends leaving 40 cm in front of the printer and 25 cm behind it so the paper support and output tray can open. Measure the intended location with that clearance in mind, particularly if the printer will sit on a shallow desk or shelf. Canon Australia’s support page lists manuals, drivers, software and firmware; the TS9500a-series firmware updater shown there was dated 18 September 2026 when checked, so consult the support page for the latest listing before setup.

It is a better fit if
- You have a recurring need to print A3 pages, posters, layouts or craft projects at home.
- You want one device for printing, copying and scanning, and a 20-sheet ADF is enough for the multi-page jobs you handle.
- You value a choice of Wi-Fi, wired LAN, USB-B, Wireless Direct and memory-card connections.
It may be more printer than you need if
- Your printing is almost entirely occasional A4 documents and you have no practical use for A3 or craft media.
- You regularly scan large batches: the 20-sheet ADF is a small feeder, not a high-capacity document workflow.
- You need a predictable cost per page before purchase. Canon’s listed cartridge compatibility alone does not supply the yield and price data needed to calculate one.
What the available evidence does—and does not—show
Canon’s Australian specifications establish the listed features, paper capacities, cartridge families, RRP and stated document speeds. They do not establish independently measured print quality, real-world speed, ink yield, cost per page, noise or long-term reliability. There is also no supported basis here for saying the TS9560a outperforms a particular competing printer. A Reddit discussion mentioning the model among options for lower-volume printing is anecdotal, not representative consumer research.
