Its headline appeal is high stated bottle yield, but those figures are estimates—not a promise of pages in everyday use. Canon Australia lists an Australian recommended retail price (RRP) of A$459. Whether it is worth buying depends on whether you need fax and an ADF, your local price, and how often you print.

What the Canon PIXMA G4670 does
Canon Australia lists the G4670 as a print, copy, scan and fax model. It supports Wi-Fi, USB-B and camera-direct connectivity, and Canon lists compatibility with the Canon PRINT app, Apple AirPrint and Mopria. These are published features, not a substitute for checking compatibility with your specific devices and network.
Canon New Zealand described the G4670 and G3670 series as additions to its MegaTank range for families seeking savings on home printing. That is manufacturer positioning, not an independent finding about ownership costs or performance.

How much do GI-61 ink bottles print?
Canon Australia estimates yields of up to 6,000 black pages and 7,700 colour pages for the compatible GI-61 bottles. These are separate estimates for black and colour printing, not a combined page count. Canon says the figures use its stated method and the ISO/IEC 24712 colour chart with replacement bottles after initial setup. The bottles supplied with a new printer yield less because some ink is used to fill the print head.

What does it cost in Australia?
At the time Canon Australia’s product page was accessed in 2026, it listed an Australian RRP of A$459 for the printer, A$25 for GI-61BK black ink, and A$20 each for GI-61C, GI-61M and GI-61Y colour ink. These are manufacturer RRPs, not guaranteed retailer prices or prices for other countries. Canon says its products are sold through retailers, so compare the current local printer price and bottle prices before deciding.

To judge likely running costs, consider how many pages you print, how much colour coverage they contain, and the local cost and availability of replacement bottles. Canon’s estimated yields can help frame that calculation, but they cannot predict your exact cost per page.
Paper handling and photo use
The 100-sheet rear tray is specified for plain paper, while the 35-sheet ADF is intended to feed multi-page documents for supported copy, scan or fax tasks. If you regularly process larger batches, compare ADF capacity and workflow with other printers you are considering; the G4670’s published capacity is 35 sheets.

Canon lists A4, A5, A6, B5, letter and legal among supported sizes, along with photo and other media. Named papers include Photo Paper Plus Glossy II, Photo Paper Plus Semi-gloss, Photo Paper Glossy and Matte Photo Paper. That makes occasional photo printing a supported use, but the specifications do not establish how its prints compare in quality with other printers.

It may suit a household or home office that wants an ADF and fax as well as printing, scanning and copying, and that expects to use the bottle system for regular printing. The stated 35-sheet feeder and four-function design are the clearest reasons to consider it over a simpler printer. The listed speeds, yield estimates and resolution alone do not show that it will outperform competing models.

Before choosing it, compare the price in your market, whether you need fax, the ADF capacity for your document workload, paper handling, device connectivity, and local GI-61 availability and pricing. If you do not need fax or an ADF, a less expensive model with the functions you actually use may be a better fit. No independent real-world results are established here for print quality, speed, reliability or setup experience.

Canon Australia’s support page provides setup instructions, manuals, software and driver downloads, and firmware listings. Choose your operating system on Canon’s support page and check the current version and date before installing; download availability and compatibility can change.
Canon’s G4670 product page includes a maintenance-cartridge passage that specifically names the PIXMA G3670. That wording does not establish that the same cartridge is compatible with the G4670, so confirm the part against the G4670 manual or Canon support before purchasing one.
