Can Your Phone Run Monster Hunter Rise? How to Check

Short answer: the official listings reviewed do not show a native Android or iOS version of Monster Hunter Rise, so there is no published phone compatibility checklist to compare with your device. Check whether you mean installing the game directly or streaming it from another device; only the first question can be answered from the official platform listings reviewed here.

How to check whether your phone can run Monster Hunter Rise

  1. Check for a native mobile edition. Look for an official Android or iOS listing from the game’s publisher or the relevant app store. The official platform listings cited here identify Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation and Xbox editions, but no native Android or iOS edition. Nintendo’s US listing identifies the Switch game, while Steam’s listing covers the Windows PC edition and Capcom’s platform FAQ discusses the console and PC versions.
  2. Do not use your phone’s specs as a substitute compatibility test. Since these listings do not provide Android or iOS requirements, a phone’s processor, RAM, graphics hardware or OS version cannot be matched against official native requirements for Rise.
  3. Separate streaming from installing. Streaming would depend on the game running on a host device, a compatible app or service, your phone, network conditions and region. The official sources cited here do not confirm a supported streaming setup for this game.

Why the PC requirements do not tell you whether a phone will run it

Steam’s requirements are for the Windows PC edition, not for Android or iOS. Its minimum specification lists Windows 10 64-bit, an Intel Core i3-4130 or i5-3470 or AMD FX-6100, 8 GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030 (DDR4) or AMD Radeon RX 550 graphics, DirectX 12, broadband internet and 36 GB storage. Steam describes that minimum target as 1080p at 30 fps on Low settings. Its recommended PC specification raises the graphics requirement to an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (3 GB VRAM) or AMD Radeon RX 570 (4 GB VRAM), while retaining 8 GB RAM and 36 GB storage; the stated target is 1080p at 30 fps on Average settings. Steam’s listing applies these figures to the PC edition only.

Even a PC with a mobile-class GPU is not automatically equivalent to a phone. Capcom’s PC support FAQ cautions that mobile GPUs used in PCs can perform substantially worse than regular GPUs, and that a listed model may still fail to work. That warning concerns PC hardware; it does not create a phone requirement or establish phone compatibility.

What portable play is officially documented

Nintendo lists Monster Hunter Rise for Nintendo Switch and supports handheld mode, so playing on a Switch is the documented portable option in these official listings. It is play on separate console hardware, not a way to make the game run natively on an Android phone or iPhone. Nintendo’s US product page lists 19.8 GB, while Nintendo Australia lists 19.7 GB; these are regional product-page figures, not a single guaranteed global installation-space requirement. The Australian listing also marks Switch 2 compatibility as supported. Nintendo Australia’s listing provides its regional details.

Monster Hunter Rise - Nintendo Switch Standard Edition
  • The debut of the new “wirebug” mechanic allows for wire-based grappling actions that can be used to scale cliffs and other hard-to-reach areas, providing new traversal and aerial attack options.
  • The game will introduce magnamalo, a menacing new flagship monster, as well as other new monsters like the shape-shifting aknosom, the amphibious tetranadon, and more.
  • New hunting partners called palamutes can be personalized and used to ride across the terrain, providing players with all-new traveling and attack options.
  • In addition to the plethora of solo and multiplayer quests, the immersive story mode will task aspiring hunters with discovering the secrets behind the puzzling “rampage” events that threaten kamura village.
  • Play solo, or join up to three other hunters in local or online co-op play. The Nintendo Switch system also allows for hunting anywhere, anytime and with anyone!

For context, Capcom’s platform FAQ lists Switch output targets of 1080p at 30 fps in TV mode and 720p at 30 fps in handheld mode. Those describe the Switch edition’s modes, not performance on a phone. Capcom’s platform FAQ also covers differences among the console and PC versions.

What to do if you want to play on a phone

  • If you mean installing the game directly, the official listings reviewed do not identify an Android or iOS edition or publish phone requirements.
  • If you mean streaming, verify the complete setup before relying on it: the host platform must run the game, the streaming app or service must support that host and your phone, and availability and network conditions must fit your situation. The sources cited here do not establish an officially supported route for Rise streaming to a phone.
  • If you want documented portable play without a phone-streaming setup, Nintendo Switch handheld mode is listed as supported.
