Usually, but it depends on the Shokz model. Shokz says OpenMove can be used in rain, while its OpenRun Pro FAQ cautions against prolonged exposure to continuous rain. OpenRun is rated IP67, but Shokz specifically says it is not recommended for underwater swimming. Check the guidance for your exact model, and let wet charging contacts dry before charging.
Shokz rain and water guidance by model
Shokz publishes different ingress ratings and wet-use advice for different headphones. Rain, sweat, and submersion are not interchangeable conditions, so a rating alone does not establish that a model is suitable for every kind of water exposure.

| Model | Shokz rating or guidance | What it means for rain use |
|---|---|---|
| OpenRun | IP67. Shokz says it is not recommended for underwater swimming. Shokz OpenRun support FAQ. | Do not interpret IP67 as a recommendation to swim with the headphones. Shokz’s cited guidance does not set a universal safe duration or rainfall threshold. |
| OpenRun Pro | IP55. Its FAQ warns that water might enter through the speakers in continual rain and advises against wearing it in rain or water for a long time. The product page also promotes an IP55 rating for rainy runs and sweaty rides. Shokz OpenRun Pro FAQ. | Rainy-run promotional wording is not unlimited protection: follow the FAQ’s caution about prolonged continuous exposure. |
| OpenRun Pro 2 | IP55 in Shokz’s comparison material. Shokz model comparison and support material. | The cited material does not provide a Pro 2-specific rain-duration instruction. Do not assume the OpenRun Pro FAQ applies word-for-word to this separate model. |
| OpenMove | IP55. Shokz calls it water-resistant, not waterproof, and says it can be used in rain and intense workouts. Shokz OpenMove support. | Rain and workout use are expressly described by Shokz, but the statement does not establish protection against submersion or an unlimited exposure time. |
These ratings and recommendations are Shokz’s published guidance, not independent real-world rain testing. The cited material does not establish a universal rainfall intensity or safe exposure duration across the product range.

What IP55 and IP67 do—and do not—tell you
IP ratings describe protection against ingress under specified test conditions; they are not blanket promises for every wet situation. In its OpenRun FAQ, Shokz describes IP67 as protection when the headphones are placed under one meter of water for 30 minutes. In the same FAQ, however, Shokz says OpenRun is not recommended for underwater swimming. Underwater pressure and Bluetooth not working underwater are among the reasons it gives.

For a decision about rain, use the exact model’s own support guidance rather than ranking models by the second digit alone. A rating does not supply a rain-duration limit, and a statement permitting rain use is not the same as permission to swim.
How to use Shokz in wet weather more cautiously
- Identify the exact model name before relying on a rating or support answer; OpenRun and OpenRun Pro are different models.
- For OpenRun Pro, take Shokz’s warning about prolonged continuous rain seriously, even though its product page promotes rainy-run use.
- For OpenMove, Shokz expressly permits rain and intense-workout use while describing the headphones as water-resistant, not waterproof.
- Do not use OpenRun for underwater swimming based only on its IP67 rating; Shokz advises against it.
Dry the charging contacts before plugging in
If the charging port or contacts are wet, Shokz’s OpenRun Pro FAQ says to wipe the wet area with soft tissue and wait until it is dry before charging. Do not connect the charger while the contacts are still wet.
