You can’t, at least not with a US or Canadian Fubo subscription. Fubo’s Help Center says US customers who travel outside the United States and its territories can’t watch Fubo. Fubo Canada says the same for Canadian customers who leave Canada. No streaming stick, router or app setting changes that rule, and Fubo tells customers to turn off VPNs and proxies.
What Fubo says about each account type
The restriction depends on where your subscription was sold and where you are when you try to stream.

| Your subscription | Travel within your market | Travel outside it | Fubo source and date |
|---|---|---|---|
| US | Works in the US and US territories. Local channels follow your current location. | Not available. Fubo: “If you are traveling outside these areas, you will not be able to watch Fubo.” | Fubo Help Center, “Can I watch Fubo while away from home?”, updated November 21, 2025 |
| Canada | You can watch anywhere in Canada. | Not available outside Canada. | Fubo Help Centre (Canada), same article title, dated August 4, 2023 |
| Spain | Not stated in the sources reviewed. | Not stated in the sources reviewed. | Fubo Help Center, “Is Fubo available in my country?”, updated February 20, 2026 |
The US article is written for US and US-territory customers. The Canadian article is separate. Don’t assume one country’s terms apply to the other, and don’t read the US rule as saying a US account works in Canada. It doesn’t say that.

Fubo’s troubleshooting page for the error “Your IP address cannot be used to access Fubo content” (updated September 29, 2025) says: “VPNs, or Virtual Private Networks, prevent us from accurately verifying your geographic location.” The instruction is to disable VPNs and proxies. So Fubo treats a VPN as an obstacle to its location check, not as a way to travel with your account.

- Compact without compromises: The sleek design of Roku Streaming Stick won’t block neighboring HDMI ports, and it even powers from your TV alone, plugging into the back and staying out of sight. No wall outlet, no extra cords, no clutter.
- No more juggling remotes: Power up your TV, adjust the volume, and control your Roku device with one remote. Use your voice to quickly search, play entertainment, and more.
- Shows on the go: Take your TV to-go when traveling—without needing to log into someone else’s device.
- TV, simplified: With setup that only takes minutes, a simple-to-navigate Home Screen, and an uncluttered remote control that does all you need—Roku makes it easier to watch the TV you love.
If you’re at home and wrongly blocked, Fubo’s guidance is to check for other anonymous-browsing tools you may have running, then contact customer care if the error continues. That’s the legitimate route for a false detection. It isn’t a way to get around the location rule while you’re abroad.
Hardware won’t help either
Fubo’s rules concern service territory and location verification. A streaming stick, smart TV or travel router only plays video. It doesn’t move your subscription into another territory. Fubo hasn’t published a device or router workaround, so this is a conclusion from its stated rules, not a product test.

Fubo in Spain is a separate service
Fubo’s country page lists service in the US, Canada and Spain. It also says: “The programming available in these countries is not the same as what’s available in the U.S.” That is about separate local offerings. It doesn’t show that a US or Canadian account carries over when you travel. It also doesn’t say whether you can subscribe in each market from any location, or what a Spanish account’s terms are. Check those details with Fubo for the country you’re interested in.

Inside the US, travel works with conditions. Fubo says local channels depend on your current location. Regional sports networks can travel with your device within the US, provided it has been used in your home area at least once in the last month (Fubo Help Center, “Can I watch my local channels when I’m away from home?”, updated November 21, 2025). Fubo’s Home Network article (updated August 6, 2024) explains the home-area setup. These rules apply only inside the US and don’t override the ban on watching from outside it.

What to do before a trip
- Don’t plan around Fubo abroad. If you need to watch something live while away, don’t count on your subscription.
- Don’t pause or cancel on assumption. Check your billing terms in your Fubo account first. The sources reviewed don’t cover pause or cancellation rules.
- Look at local licensed services. For a sports event or channel abroad, find the licensed broadcaster in your destination. Confirm that it carries the rights you want before you pay, because rights differ by country.
- Turn off VPNs at home. If Fubo flags your IP address while you’re in your home market, turn off any VPN, proxy or anonymous-browsing tool and try again.
