Not confirmed. Rockstar says GTA VI’s story will not take players everywhere in Leonida, but it has not confirmed that every part of the map will be accessible after the ending. As of October 3, 2026, the game had not been released, so post-story access could not be verified in-game.
What Rockstar has confirmed about the story and map
Rockstar senior vice president of narrative Rupert Humphries said the campaign is designed to show players most of Leonida’s places, cultures and atmosphere, not take them everywhere. In reporting on his Game Informer interview, he put it this way: “We don’t have time to take you everywhere, but we want to be able to explore and get a feel for most of the places, cultures, and vibes.” (Notebookcheck’s report)

Does the map reveal itself as you explore?
In a published English translation of his Famitsu interview, Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson said unexplored map areas are hidden and become visible when players visit them. (GTAVice.net’s translated interview) This describes how sections are revealed on the map; it is not confirmation that every region is reachable at every point in the story or after its ending.

Nelson has also encouraged players to discover things beyond objectives and map icons, according to GamesRadar+’s report on his IGN interview. That supports the idea that exploration will extend beyond the campaign’s marked activities, but it does not establish post-game boundary rules.

As of October 3, 2026, GTA VI was still unreleased. PlayStation lists it as a PS5 game scheduled for November 19, 2026, and there was no released game in which to test access after the ending. (PlayStation’s GTA VI page) Rockstar’s official GTA VI page is the place to check for future announcements, but the available statements do not confirm that every part of Leonida opens up after the story.

Reporting on Rockstar’s Aaron Garbut describes Leonida as roughly twice the area of GTA V’s world. That is an approximate size comparison, not an official area measurement, and it says nothing about when or whether each location can be visited. (Notebookcheck)
