Not on the basis of the unlisted setting alone. Unlisted videos can be watched by anyone who has their links, but YouTube’s published guidance reviewed here does not specifically confirm a workflow for relaying existing unlisted uploads as a continuous 24/7 live stream. If the lectures are yours, check that your chosen method meets YouTube’s current terms and live-stream requirements. If they contain someone else’s material, secure the necessary rights before broadcasting.
What unlisted means—and what it does not
An unlisted YouTube video is accessible to anyone with its URL. Viewers do not need a Google Account, and they can share the link onward. Unlisted videos normally do not appear in YouTube search or on your channel’s Videos tab, although a video may appear in search if it is added to a public playlist. YouTube’s visibility guide therefore describes limited discoverability, not privacy or protection from redistribution.

That visibility setting does not grant permission to rebroadcast the video, establish that a particular 24/7 relay method is supported, or make included music and other third-party material yours to use. Treat access, rights, and the technical streaming method as separate questions.
Does YouTube confirm that unlisted uploads can be relayed 24/7?
YouTube documents live streaming through eligible channels and describes mobile, webcam, and encoder workflows. Its published help pages reviewed here do not specifically confirm that existing unlisted video URLs can be used as the source for a continuous live broadcast, or explain a supported method for looping those uploads into one.

That gap is not proof that YouTube prohibits the setup, and it is not approval of it. Before relying on a relay workflow, check it against YouTube’s current terms and operational requirements. YouTube says a channel must be verified and must not have had a live-stream restriction in the preceding 90 days to live stream. Rights still apply to every part of the lecture
Being the uploader—or having an unlisted URL—does not by itself establish that you have every right needed for a live broadcast. YouTube’s live-stream terms put responsibility on the provider to have necessary rights for live content on Google services, including relevant music licensing rights, and to follow applicable laws and regulations. YouTube’s terms include this representation: “You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights for the exploitation of the Live Content on the Google Services throughout the world, including, without limitation, music licensing rights from artists, record labels, publishers (including public performance licenses) and any other royalty participants.”

If a lecture includes third-party slides, clips, readings, music, or recordings, check the rights for the use you plan—not just the right to upload or share the original video. If you do not control the material, get the necessary permissions before streaming it.

These are visibility choices for uploaded videos, not substitutes for checking broadcast rights or confirming that a relay method is supported. See YouTube’s video privacy settings for the platform’s definitions.

What to check before attempting a lecture stream
- Confirm control and rights. Make sure you have the rights needed for the lecture and every included element, especially music or third-party recordings.
- Check channel eligibility. Verify the channel and confirm it has no live-stream restriction in the previous 90 days, as described in YouTube’s live-stream setup guidance.
- Confirm the production method. YouTube documents mobile, webcam, and encoder paths. Its guidance does not establish that a particular tool can relay unlisted upload URLs; do not assume that a video link can simply be entered as a source.
- Plan for continuity and archives separately. A continuous broadcast and a complete saved recording are different needs. If you need a full archive, retain a local recording.
- Review monetization separately. Permission to use material does not guarantee that a stream qualifies for monetization.
Plan for the 12-hour archive limitation
YouTube says live streams under 12 hours can be automatically archived, but streams longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. A 24/7 stream exceeds that threshold, so do not rely on YouTube’s automatic archive as the only copy of the lectures. Keep a local recording if a complete archive matters. This archive limitation concerns capture, not whether the live broadcast itself can run continuously. See YouTube’s archive live streams guidance.
Monetization is not the same as permission
YouTube’s monetization policy expects content to be original and authentic. Reused content without significant original commentary, substantive modifications, or educational or entertainment value may be ineligible for monetization, even if you have permission to use it. A rights holder’s permission and a channel’s monetization eligibility are separate matters. Review YouTube’s channel monetization policies before building a monetization plan around a lecture stream.
