Govee also says its Home app can change colors, brightness, and power without those voice assistants. However, Govee does not clearly confirm that the H6076 app continues to control the lamp when Wi‑Fi is disabled or unavailable. Treat physical control as the dependable Wi‑Fi-free option, and treat Bluetooth-based app control as unconfirmed unless Govee’s documentation for your exact unit says otherwise.
First, separate Wi‑Fi from Alexa and Google Assistant
People often use “without Wi‑Fi” to mean “without smart-home voice control,” but those are different situations.

- Without Alexa or Google Assistant: Govee explicitly says you can use the Govee Home app to change colors, adjust brightness, and turn the H6076 on or off. Its product FAQ says, “Alexa and Google Assistant are not necessarily needed.”
- Without Wi‑Fi: Govee lists the H6076 as using 2.4GHz Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth, but the product information does not explain whether the app can control the lamp over Bluetooth when Wi‑Fi and internet access are both unavailable.
- Without the app: The H6076 has a physical control box. That is the manufacturer-listed non-app control method, although Govee does not publish the complete set of functions available from that box on the product page.
Therefore, removing Alexa or Google Assistant is documented and straightforward. Removing Wi‑Fi is a separate question with a narrower, qualified answer.

Govee sells several floor lamps whose controls are not interchangeable. The US product page discussed here is for the Govee RGBICW Smart Floor Lamp Basic, model H6076. Look for “H6076” on the lamp, power supply, packaging, or product label before applying the information in this article.

Do not confuse it with the Govee Floor Lamp 2, model H607C. Govee’s UK listing for H607C names app, remote, and voice control, while the H6076 listing names app, control box, and voice control. A remote listed for H607C does not establish that an H6076 includes or supports the same remote, and neither model’s control list proves what the app does during a Wi‑Fi outage.

What the H6076 specifications actually establish
Govee’s current H6076 specifications identify a 1,000-lumen lamp rated at 12 volts and 24 watts. Those figures describe the hardware and power requirement, not its ability to operate without a network.
The same listing names three control categories: the Govee Home app, a physical control box, and voice control. It also lists 2.4GHz Wi‑Fi plus Bluetooth. This tells you that the lamp contains both network and short-range wireless hardware, but a connectivity label alone does not show how the app chooses between those radios.
For example, an app may require the lamp to be registered through Wi‑Fi before it can use Bluetooth, or Bluetooth may be reserved for setup while normal commands go through Wi‑Fi. Govee’s product page does not state which arrangement applies to H6076. Do not infer offline app support simply because Bluetooth appears in the specification.

What you can use when Wi‑Fi is unavailable
The physical control box
The control box is the clearest answer for basic operation during a Wi‑Fi outage. Because it is a listed physical control method, it does not depend on a router, an internet connection, Alexa, Google Assistant, or the Govee Home app.
Govee’s H6076 page does not enumerate every button and does not state whether the box handles power, brightness, color selection, scenes, or other modes. Do not assume that all app scenes or RGBICW effects are available from the box. Use the labels on your own control box and the model-specific manual for button-by-button instructions.
Voice assistants
Alexa and Google Assistant are optional integrations, not a requirement for ordinary H6076 app control. If your Wi‑Fi network is working but you have never connected a voice assistant, Govee says the app can still change color, adjust brightness, and turn the lamp on or off.

The Govee Home app
The app’s behavior with Wi‑Fi disabled is unresolved by the published H6076 information. In particular, there is no confirmed statement that the app can discover an already-paired H6076 over Bluetooth, send commands locally, or continue using every scene and schedule offline.
If the app shows the lamp as unavailable after the router is turned off, that is consistent with a Wi‑Fi-dependent implementation. If it still responds over Bluetooth, that would demonstrate behavior on your specific phone, firmware, and lamp, not a universal guarantee for every H6076 installation.
Wi‑Fi outage versus internet outage
Test these conditions separately because they are not equivalent:
- Internet down, local Wi‑Fi still running: Your phone and lamp may remain connected to the same router. Some devices continue to communicate locally, while others require a cloud service even for commands on the same network. Govee’s H6076 page does not promise either outcome.
- Router or 2.4GHz Wi‑Fi disabled: The lamp cannot use its listed Wi‑Fi connection. Only the physical control box is clearly documented as independent of that network.
- Power removed: No electronic control method works while the lamp is unplugged. After power is restored, whether it returns to its previous state or waits for a command is a model-and-firmware behavior that the cited product information does not specify.
Do not describe all three conditions as simply “offline.” A local-network test can produce a different result from turning off the router’s wireless radio.

How to test your own H6076 safely
This procedure separates documented controls from behaviors that are only being observed on your unit. It does not require changing firmware or resetting the lamp.
- Verify the model. Confirm that the label says H6076. Stop if it identifies a different floor-lamp model.
- Record the normal setup. With the lamp operating normally, note whether the Govee Home app can change power, brightness, color, and any scenes you regularly use.
- Test the control box first. Disconnect the phone from the app, leave the lamp powered, and use only the physical box. Record which functions respond. Do not assume an unlisted button combination.
- Test an internet-only failure. If possible, block internet access while leaving your phone and lamp connected to the same 2.4GHz network. Check whether the app still responds. This result shows how your current network and firmware behave, not what every H6076 must do.
- Test Wi‑Fi removal. Turn off the router’s Wi‑Fi or move the lamp and phone outside the network’s range. Reopen the app and see whether the existing lamp remains controllable. Do not delete the device or reset it merely to perform this test.
- Check Bluetooth permissions. On the phone, allow the Govee app’s Bluetooth permission if the operating system requests it. Permission alone does not prove that H6076 supports offline Bluetooth control; it only removes one possible phone-side block.
- Restore the network. Reconnect the lamp to the same 2.4GHz network before making account, pairing, or firmware changes. If it remains unavailable, follow the model’s manual rather than guessing at reset sequences.
Write down the exact conditions for any successful result: phone model and operating system, whether internet was available, whether Wi‑Fi was enabled, and which command worked. This prevents an internet outage from being mistaken for a Wi‑Fi-free test.

Common assumptions that can lead to a wrong answer
“It has Bluetooth, so the app must work offline.”
Bluetooth hardware can serve setup, accessories, diagnostics, or another function without providing full local app control. The H6076 listing does not identify Bluetooth’s exact role. Treat offline app operation as unverified.
“No Alexa means no Wi‑Fi is needed.”
Govee’s statement only makes voice assistants optional. The app may still depend on Wi‑Fi, internet access, or both.
“Every Govee floor lamp has the same fallback controls.”
H6076 lists a control box, while H607C lists a remote. Model names and generations matter; do not substitute one manual or accessory for another.

The available H6076 information does not confirm how schedules, cloud scenes, automations, or saved effects behave when the lamp loses connectivity. Keep a physical control method available if uninterrupted basic lighting matters.
Practical buying and setup advice
- If you need a lamp that can be turned on or adjusted during router maintenance, verify that the exact model includes a physical control method before buying.
- Keep the control box accessible rather than hiding it behind furniture. It is the only H6076 fallback explicitly identified without relying on the network.
- Use a 2.4GHz-capable Wi‑Fi network for initial setup, because that is the band Govee lists for H6076.
- Do not remove the lamp from the app or factory-reset it during an outage unless the model manual specifically directs you to do so; doing that can create a new pairing problem after the network returns.
- For installations where local-only operation is a requirement, obtain written confirmation from Govee for H6076’s Bluetooth behavior rather than treating the connectivity specification as a guarantee.
Bottom line for H6076 owners
You can use the H6076 without Wi‑Fi for at least the functions available from its physical control box. You can also use the Govee Home app without Alexa or Google Assistant when the app’s required connectivity is available. What has not been established is whether the app itself provides complete Bluetooth control with Wi‑Fi disabled and internet unavailable. Identify the model, rely on the control box for guaranteed non-network operation, and describe any offline app result as specific to your tested lamp and setup.
