Yes. UFL Mobile supports physical gamepads on both iPhone and Android. The current iOS listing says you can play in a console-style layout and that a quick controls guide appears when a gamepad connects. Pair a compatible Bluetooth or wired controller with your phone, launch UFL, and wait for the connection notice. Compatibility is not guaranteed for every controller model, however; it depends on the phone, operating system, controller mode and installed UFL build.
What UFL Mobile officially supports
UFL Mobile is available on iOS and Android as part of its mobile release. The current Apple App Store version notes explicitly state: “You can play with a physical gamepad in a console-style layout.” The same listing says a quick controls guide is shown when the controller connects, so the game should tell you when it has recognized the device and explain the button layout.

This is a meaningful change from older information. In an earlier App Store developer response, UFL said, “🎮 Gamepad support will be added to the game as soon as possible, stay tuned!” That response reflected an earlier build. Reviews, videos or forum posts based on that version may therefore say that controllers do not work, even though the newer listing documents gamepad play.

What “controller support” means in practice
Support means UFL can accept input from a physical gamepad and present a layout designed around console-style controls instead of touch buttons. It does not mean every PlayStation, Xbox or third-party controller is guaranteed to work on every phone.
Four separate pieces have to line up:
- The phone must support the controller’s connection method, such as Bluetooth or a compatible wired connection.
- The controller must be in the correct pairing or input mode and must not be reserved by another device.
- The operating system must expose the controller as an input device that games can use.
- Your installed UFL build and regional release must include the gamepad feature.
When those conditions are met, UFL should display its physical-gamepad connection notice and the quick controls guide described in the iOS listing. If the operating system sees the controller but UFL does not, the problem is likely the game’s build, launch order or controller mode rather than basic Bluetooth pairing.

The safest interpretation is category-level support: UFL Mobile supports physical gamepads, but there is no published compatibility list proving that every named console controller or third-party model works.
How to connect a controller on iPhone or iPad
Use these steps for a Bluetooth gamepad. Menu names can vary slightly by iOS or iPadOS version and controller.

- Charge the controller. A low battery can interrupt pairing or cause the device to disappear during launch.
- Put the controller in Bluetooth pairing mode. Follow its manual rather than assuming the same button combination used by another model. If it has several profiles, select its standard iOS, mobile or generic gamepad mode.
- Open Settings > Bluetooth on the iPhone or iPad. Turn Bluetooth on and wait for the controller to appear under available devices.
- Tap the controller’s name. Wait until iOS shows it as connected. If a pairing code appears, enter the code specified by the controller.
- Test the controller outside UFL. Use an iOS game or controller test utility you already trust. The purpose is to confirm that iOS receives button and stick input before troubleshooting UFL.
- Close UFL completely if it was already running. Reopen it after the controller is connected. Launch order matters for some games because they enumerate gamepads at startup.
- Watch for UFL’s connection notice. The current App Store listing says a quick controls guide appears when a physical gamepad connects. Use that guide to verify button assignments.
For a wired setup, connect a controller that your iPhone or iPad supports, using the correct port or adapter. If the phone does not recognize the accessory at the operating-system level, UFL cannot use it; resolve the connection or power issue first.
How to connect a controller on Android
- Charge the gamepad and enable its standard Android or generic Bluetooth mode. Some controllers remember the last device and will not advertise until you hold the pairing button again.
- Open Settings and go to the Bluetooth or Connected devices section. Android labels differ by manufacturer, so use the settings search field for “Bluetooth” or “Pair new device” if necessary.
- Select the controller from the available-device list. Accept the pairing request and wait for the status to change to connected.
- Confirm input at the Android level. Check that buttons and sticks respond in a game or controller tester. A controller can show as paired while still being in an incompatible profile.
- Force-close UFL if it was open during pairing. Start the game only after Android reports the controller as connected.
- Look for the physical-gamepad prompt and quick controls guide. Their appearance is the practical confirmation that UFL has detected the device.
For wired Android play, use a controller and cable that the phone can host. USB-C phones may accept a directly compatible cable, while other combinations require an adapter. If Android repeatedly disconnects the controller, check power draw and the adapter before changing UFL settings.
What to do when UFL Mobile does not detect the controller
Work from the phone outward. This sequence separates a pairing problem from a game-build or regional-release problem.

Make sure the phone shows the controller as connected and that at least one game or input tester receives its buttons and sticks. If it fails there, forget the device, restart Bluetooth, re-enter pairing mode and pair it again. A controller connected to a laptop, console or another phone may need to be disconnected from that device first.

2. Reconnect before launching the game
Quit UFL rather than leaving it suspended, connect the controller in the operating-system settings, and then launch UFL. This is practical troubleshooting guidance, not a documented guarantee, but it avoids a common launch-order failure in games that scan for input devices only when they start.
3. Update UFL and the phone
Install the latest UFL version offered through the official App Store or Google Play listing for your region. Also install pending iOS, iPadOS or Android updates when your phone supports them. The documented gamepad behavior belongs to the current listing; an old app build may not contain it.
4. Check the controller’s mode
Many mobile pads can advertise different profiles for iOS, Android, Windows or consoles. Switch to the profile intended for your phone, then remove and re-pair the controller. A device can be visible in Bluetooth while sending an input format UFL does not interpret.

Turn off Bluetooth on nearby devices that previously used the controller, or explicitly disconnect the gamepad from them. Also close other games that may still hold the device. Pairing the controller exclusively with the phone gives UFL the clearest chance to claim it.

6. Consider regional availability
UFL Support has said that iOS and Android availability initially covered only named regions during an early regional release and that features could change before global launch. If the game is still in a soft-launch phase where you live, the app version, server configuration or feature set may differ from another player’s. Confirm that you installed the official listing available in your region.
7. Recheck after a clean restart
Restart the phone, pair the controller again and open UFL as the first game you launch. If the operating system recognizes the controller but UFL still shows no prompt after an update and clean restart, the current build may not support that controller profile. At that point, record the phone model, operating-system version, controller model and UFL version before contacting UFL Support.

Possibly, but the available evidence does not establish universal PS5 or Xbox compatibility. Those controllers commonly offer Bluetooth and wired modes, yet UFL’s published statement is about physical gamepads as a category, not a tested list of console models.

- Confirm the phone supports the controller’s Bluetooth or wired mode.
- Pair it while no other device is using it.
- Verify button input in the operating system or another game.
- Launch UFL after pairing and look for the gamepad notice.
- If the notice never appears, try the controller’s alternate mobile or generic mode, then repeat the test after updating UFL.
Do not treat a successful connection to iOS or Android as proof that UFL will accept the device. The final check must happen inside the current UFL build.

How to choose a controller for UFL Mobile
If you are buying a gamepad specifically for UFL, evaluate the hardware before worrying about brand names. A Bluetooth mobile controller designed for both iPhone/iPad and Android is the most flexible category, but the product’s manual and return policy matter.

Buy for documented phone compatibility and a reasonable return option, then perform the UFL detection test immediately. That is more reliable than assuming a controller works because it pairs with another mobile game.
Regional and version caveats
The mobile release has not been a single, identical build everywhere. UFL Support described an initial regional release for iOS and Android and warned that features could change before global launch. Consequently, a controller guide or video from another country may not match your menus, server access or feature availability.
Check the version shown in your store listing, keep automatic updates enabled if your data plan allows, and treat older reviews that say “gamepad support is coming” as historical. The newer App Store version note is the stronger evidence for the current iOS build, while the Android experience still depends on the app version and device combination available in your region.
Bottom line for iPhone and Android players
UFL Mobile can be played with a physical controller on iPhone, iPad and Android. Pair a compatible Bluetooth or wired gamepad at the operating-system level, connect it before launching UFL, and confirm the in-game prompt and controls guide. PS5, Xbox and other controllers may work, but none should be considered guaranteed without testing on your phone and current regional build. If detection fails, update the game, verify input outside UFL, reconnect before launch, check the controller mode and account for soft-launch differences.
