What is confirmed about TF3 map sizes?
The official Transport Fever 3 Base Config modding wiki documents configurable game settings, but the page reviewed does not document a map-size unlock option. Urban Games says some gameplay settings are moddable, while explaining that simulation balance informs which settings are offered in regular play; its statement does not identify a map-size switch. The developer’s Tycoon Gameplay Overview therefore supports the general possibility of modding, not a specific way to enlarge TF3 maps.

A third-party guide says TF3’s largest map matched TF2’s largest and that a larger experimental option was being tested, without promising it would be available. Does the experimentalMapFeatures setting unlock it?
A Reddit community post suggests turning on experimentalMapFeatures in the PC settings.lua file. It does not demonstrate that the setting reveals a larger map-size preset, and the official TF3 documentation reviewed does not confirm that effect. No current-build procedure or result is established, so do not assume this change will work.

If you choose to investigate the setting, first back up your configuration file and consult current TF3 documentation or patch notes for the build you use. Do not copy a file path, variable, or sequence of map-size instructions from another game unless TF3 sources confirm they apply.

The official Transport Fever 2 manual’s Map Sizes page describes enabling other map sizes through settings.lua. That documentation applies to TF2. It does not establish that TF3 uses the same setting, file behavior, or unlock method.

At present, the evidence does not verify a larger TF3 map option through either the regular game settings or an experimental configuration switch. Check official TF3 documentation and updates for a confirmed method rather than treating TF2 directions or community speculation as instructions.
