Yes. Legendary Cores are tradeable Mods in Warframe. You can offer one through a Trading Post in a Clan Dojo or through Maroo’s Bazaar. Each Core carries a 1,000,000-Credit trading tax, paid by each participant as applicable in the trade window. You must meet Warframe’s trading requirements, and a cross-platform exchange requires Cross Platform Play to be enabled.
What a Legendary Core does
A Legendary Core is a special consumable Mod. Applying it instantly raises one eligible Mod to maximum rank without spending Endo or Credits on the fusion itself. The Core is consumed when used, so trading it transfers an item that can either save a large amount of upgrade resources or be exchanged for another player’s offer.

Clan Dojo Trading Post
In a Clan Dojo, use a Trading Post and select the player you want to trade with. The Trading Post opens Warframe’s standard two-sided trade window, where both players add items and review the final exchange before confirming.

Maroo’s Bazaar
Maroo’s Bazaar is the alternative location for a player who does not want to use a Clan Dojo. Enter the Bazaar, activate your trading interaction and select the other player. The same trade confirmation and tax rules apply.
How to trade a Legendary Core step by step
- Check your eligibility. Confirm that your account is at least Mastery Rank 2. If you play on PC or use Cross Platform Save, make sure TennoGuard 2FA is enabled on the account.
- Meet the other player. Go to a Clan Dojo Trading Post or Maroo’s Bazaar. For a player on another platform, Cross Platform Play must be enabled.
- Open the trade. Select the other player and start a trade from the Trading Post or Bazaar interaction.
- Open the Mods category. In your side of the trade window, choose the Mods section. Legendary Cores appear there rather than under ordinary resources.
- Select the Core. Add the Legendary Core to the offer. Check that the item name and quantity are correct before moving on.
- Review the tax and offer. The interface shows the Credit tax and the items or currency offered by both players. Each player must have enough Credits to cover the required tax.
- Confirm only after both sides are final. Read every item, quantity and Credit amount. Confirm the trade when the displayed offer is exactly what you agreed to; changing an offer requires the confirmation process to be completed again.
A Legendary Core cannot be traded by simply dropping it into chat or by using a normal inventory transfer. It must be placed in Warframe’s trade window.

Digital Extremes’ Update 37 patch notes state: “You can now trade and gift with players regardless of their Cross Platform Save status!” This removes Cross Platform Save status as a general barrier, but it does not remove the account, authentication or Cross Platform Play conditions that still apply. Platform features and account settings can change, so check the current in-game prompts if your menus differ.

How much is the Legendary Core trading tax?
The Warframe Wiki lists a 1,000,000-Credit tax per Legendary Core. Treat that as the tax for each Core included in the trade, not as a suggested selling price. The tax is separate from whatever the players negotiate for the item, and both players should review the amount shown in the confirmation window before accepting.

The tax does not establish a universal Platinum value. A Core’s negotiated offer depends on what another player is willing to provide at that time. Do not assume that a listing, chat message or old price reflects the current market.
Can you trade across platforms?
Yes, provided the cross-platform conditions are met. Cross Platform Play must be enabled when trading with someone on another platform. Update 37’s rule means players can trade and gift regardless of whether their accounts have Cross Platform Save enabled, so Cross Platform Save itself is not the deciding requirement.

Cross-platform features are separate account settings. A player may be able to play with another platform but still be blocked from trading because of Mastery Rank, TennoGuard 2FA, account restrictions or insufficient Credits. If a cross-platform trade does not appear, both players should verify their play settings and account eligibility rather than repeatedly retrying the same invitation.
Why a Legendary Core may not appear in the trade menu
You are checking the wrong category
Open the Mods section of the trade window. A Legendary Core is classified as a Mod, so it will not be listed with resources, weapons or Warframe parts.
The account is not eligible
Confirm MR2 or higher. PC and Cross Platform Save players should also verify TennoGuard 2FA. If the other player is on another platform, check that Cross Platform Play is enabled.

The Core is no longer in your inventory
A Core is consumed when used to max-rank a Mod. If you applied it earlier, it cannot be offered afterward. Review your Mod upgrades and inventory before arranging a trade.
The trade cannot be funded
The trade can fail at confirmation if a participant lacks enough Credits for the displayed tax. Farm or reserve the required Credits before reopening the trade, then recheck the total after any change in quantity.

The other player or platform connection is restricted
Have both players leave and re-enter the Trading Post or Bazaar, then start a new invitation. If the issue persists, check account and platform settings and rely on the exact error message rather than assuming the Core is untradeable.

Should you sell a Legendary Core or use it?
There is no single correct choice. A Core is most valuable when it removes a costly upgrade you genuinely need, but it can also be exchanged for Platinum or other items if your immediate priorities are different. Make the decision using the four factors below.

For a current market check, compare several active player listings before agreeing to a price. A community discussion often points players to Warframe.market for listings, but listings are player-made and can change; do not treat an old quote as an official value. Also account for the 1,000,000-Credit tax when calculating what you will actually spend to complete the exchange.
How rare are Legendary Cores?
The Warframe Wiki records a 0.18% Archon Hunt Legendary Core drop chance and a 0.19% Sortie Legendary Core drop chance. Those figures are community-wiki entries based on Warframe’s official drop-table repository and were recorded on pages accessed in 2026. Mission reward tables can change, so verify the live official table before using either percentage as a current expectation.

These probabilities describe possible acquisition routes, not a guaranteed number of missions. A low percentage also explains why players may value a Core differently: one player may prefer the certainty of saving a major Endo bill, while another may accept the opportunity cost in exchange for Platinum or a needed item.
How to avoid mistakes during the exchange
- Agree on the exact offer in chat before opening the trade, including the number of Cores and the return item or currency.
- Inspect the final trade window rather than relying on a previous message; offers can be changed while the trade is open.
- Keep enough Credits for the Legendary-tier tax before entering the trade.
- Never share account credentials or use a third party to “hold” the Core. Complete the exchange through Warframe’s own Trading Post or Maroo’s Bazaar interface.
- Remember that using the Core is irreversible because the item is consumed during fusion.
- When comparing offers, separate the negotiated value from the 1,000,000-Credit tax; the tax is not paid to the other player.
