Yes. You can send one pre-recorded video to two YouTube channels at the same time, but each channel needs its own live-stream destination. You can send separate outputs from a local encoder, or send one feed to a cloud relay that distributes it to both channels. Before choosing either method, confirm that both channels can live stream and that your setup supports pre-recorded broadcasts.
What you need for each channel
YouTube treats each channel as a separate destination. Its API documentation requires a different liveStream resource for each channel, so one channel’s stream key does not automatically publish to another.

For each channel, create or schedule the intended live event and obtain that channel’s stream details. The stream key and stream URL tell an encoder where to send the feed. YouTube describes stream keys as “like your YouTube stream’s password and address.” Keep each key private, and match each output to the correct channel and event.
Check eligibility before setting up the outputs
- Both channels must have live streaming enabled and must not be under a live-stream restriction.
- YouTube says a channel restricted from live streaming cannot evade that restriction by streaming through another channel.
- The broadcast must comply with YouTube’s Community Guidelines and Terms of Service.
Choose how to send the video to both channels
Option 1: Use a local encoder with two outputs
Configure your encoding software or hardware to send the same video to each channel’s separate stream destination. This gives you direct control over the outputs, but your device has to handle the encoding work and your internet connection needs enough upload capacity for both feeds.

With separate outputs, estimate the total upload requirement by adding the bitrate sent to each destination, then allow headroom for network variation. There is no single bitrate that applies to every setup: the required amount depends on the settings you choose for each output. YouTube’s simulstreaming guidance emphasizes sufficient upload speed and notes that local encoding uses the device’s processor.
Option 2: Use a cloud relay
Send one incoming feed to a cloud relay, then configure it to distribute that feed to both YouTube channel destinations. This avoids sending two separate outgoing feeds from your location and can be simpler when you need several destinations. YouTube describes cloud distribution as an option for simulstreaming, but does not certify a particular relay vendor or establish that a specific service supports pre-recorded broadcasts. Confirm that the service supports pre-recorded or scheduled video and separate YouTube destinations before paying.

Set up and test the broadcasts
- Prepare both events. In each channel, create or schedule the live event and confirm its visibility and timing.
- Collect the destination details. Copy each channel’s stream URL and stream key into the matching output. Do not reuse one channel’s key for the other.
- Configure the source. In your local encoder, set up two outputs to the two destinations; with a relay, configure one incoming feed and two outgoing YouTube destinations.
- Check local capacity if applicable. For a local encoder, confirm the device can encode the selected outputs and that available upload speed covers their combined bitrate.
- Run a test before the planned start. Check both channels for the correct event, video, audio, visibility, and start timing. Verify each destination independently rather than assuming that success on one means the other is working.
