No. The deadline to request a check in the $7.85 million PlayStation digital games settlement was August 27, 2026, and it has passed. Most eligible people with active PlayStation Network (PSN) accounts did not need to file a claim: they were included automatically. The case’s fairness hearing is scheduled for October 15, 2026, but the reviewed materials do not establish its outcome or whether the settlement has received final approval.
Was there a claim form to file?
For most class members, no. The settlement FAQ says people who met the class definition and had active PSN accounts were included automatically, unless they excluded themselves. It does not describe a standard claim form.

A separate procedure applied to people whose PSN accounts had been deactivated: they could ask the administrator for a check by providing information about qualifying purchases and a current mailing address. The request deadline was August 27, 2026. Because it has passed, the materials do not support telling people they can submit a new, timely check request now. See the settlement administrator’s official site for any later updates.
Who qualified for the settlement?
The settlement concerns Caccuri, et al. v. Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC, Civil Action No. 21-cv-03361-AMO, a federal class action in the Northern District of California. The class definition is based on a particular purchase history—not simply owning a PlayStation or buying any digital game.

- Vertical Stand sold seperately
To fit the definition, a person must have bought one or more qualifying games through the PlayStation Store between April 1, 2019, and December 31, 2023. For each qualifying game, the official FAQ specifies that:
- A game-specific voucher for the game was available at retail before April 1, 2019.
- At least 200 vouchers for that game had been redeemed before April 1, 2019.
- The game’s post-discount price increased by at least $0.50 when comparing January 1, 2017–March 31, 2019 with April 1, 2019–December 31, 2023.
Check the administrator’s official case site and its eligible-games list rather than guessing from a title or console ownership. The criteria require both a qualifying title and a qualifying purchase during the stated period.
What happens to eligible members’ payments?
The filed allocation plan says the net settlement is divided pro rata according to qualifying purchase counts: each eligible claimant’s share is based on that claimant’s qualifying purchases relative to all qualifying purchases among eligible claimants. The net amount is what remains after court-approved fees, costs, service awards, and administration expenses. For active accounts, distribution is described as PSN account credit.

The published materials do not establish a guaranteed amount per person or an average payment. Do not estimate an individual payment by dividing $7.85 million by an assumed number of claimants. For someone whose account was deactivated, the alternate check-request process had the August 27, 2026 deadline described above.
What is the case status?
The administrator’s September 2026 update scheduled a fairness hearing for October 15, 2026, at 2 p.m. in Oakland, California. It said class members who wished to appear had to file a notice of intent by October 1, 2026; that date has passed. As of October 7, 2026, the hearing was still upcoming, so the reviewed materials do not establish the court’s eventual ruling or final approval status. Check the administrator’s current notice for any update and hearing logistics; its published page has inconsistent courtroom details.

The agreement is for $7.85 million. Plaintiffs alleged anticompetitive conduct in the PlayStation digital game market; Sony denied violating the law. The settlement administrator’s notice states, “THE COURT HAS NOT DECIDED WHETHER DEFENDANT VIOLATED ANY LAWS.” The settlement is not a judicial finding that Sony was liable.

The administrator’s FAQ says class counsel may seek attorneys’ fees of up to 25%, subject to court approval, and service awards totaling $30,000 for the three class representatives, also subject to approval. These are requested maximums, not final awards.
