Yes. Once you unlock a Relic in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Zombies, you can select that Relic again in later Cursed matches. The modifier is reusable; you do not have to earn it again for every run. What does not carry over is an unfinished first-time acquisition attempt: the side quest and Relic Trial must be completed in one sitting, because saving and quitting resets that attempt.
That distinction explains most confusion. An earned Relic remains available for replay, while progress toward earning a new Relic is temporary until the trial is finished. Relic runs can also be played with teammates, but the game does not clearly establish that every participant receives permanent account ownership when one player completes the trial.

What “replay” means for a Relic
Relics are selectable modifiers for Cursed Zombies matches. Activision describes them as a way to face harder challenges in exchange for “new levels of power, replayability, and rewards.” In practical terms, replaying means choosing a Relic you have already unlocked and starting another Cursed run with that rule set active.
The repeatable part is the modifier itself. You can return to an existing round-based map in Cursed Survival, select an unlocked Relic, and play a fresh match under its conditions. The previous match does not consume the Relic or permanently lock it after use.

Replayability should not be confused with repeating the unlock quest. You are not expected to redo the original side quest and Relic Trial every time you want the modifier. The first completion grants access; subsequent runs use that access.
What persists and what resets
| Activity or reward | What happens after the run | Practical meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Unlocked Relic | Remains available for later Cursed matches. | You can select the same modifier again without reacquiring it. |
| In-progress side quest and Relic Trial | Does not survive a save-and-quit; the attempt must be restarted. | Plan to finish the acquisition run in one sitting. |
| Relic Charm from Cursed Survival | Granted as a reward for surviving with Relics selected, according to the Season 02 patch notes. | Relic runs can provide repeatable reward opportunities in addition to the modifier. |
| Collection Calling Card progress | Completing the final Ashes of the Damned Relic can finish the Reliquary Calling Card challenge when the other eight Relics are already unlocked. | This is a collection milestone rather than a reward shown for every replay. |
The important boundary is between an earned Relic and an unfinished acquisition. Available references describe the reset of the in-progress attempt, not the removal of a Relic you already earned. If you have unlocked a Relic, treat it as retained even if a later match ends badly or you leave that later match.
How to replay an unlocked Relic
The exact menu wording can change with seasonal updates, but the process is consistent with the mode rules described by Activision and the Season 02 notes.
- Confirm that the Relic is unlocked. Check the Relic list before launching the activity. An item that is still locked requires its side quest and trial; it cannot be replayed as an already-earned modifier.
- Enter a supported Cursed activity. Relics are used in Cursed matches, including Cursed Survival on existing round-based maps. Choose the map and mode shown as compatible in the current game build.
- Select the Relic from the available list. Pick the modifier you want to repeat. If it is absent, verify that you are in a Cursed mode and that the current season has not changed the map or mode requirements.
- Launch the match and play under the modifier. The Relic changes the rules of that new run. It does not reopen the original unlock quest unless you deliberately start an acquisition attempt for a still-locked Relic.
- Finish the run for its listed rewards. Cursed Survival rewards can include Relic Charms when Relics are selected. The exact reward display and eligibility conditions should be checked in the current season’s in-game notices.
There is no published authoritative limit on how many times a completed Relic Trial may be replayed. Official descriptions use the word “replayability” and the patch notes describe selecting unlocked Relics in later Cursed matches, but neither source gives a numeric cap. Do not assume a daily, weekly, or lifetime limit unless the game displays one.

First-time acquisition versus a replay run
These two activities look similar because both take place in Zombies, but they have different persistence rules and goals.
| Comparison point | First-time Relic acquisition | Replay of an unlocked Relic |
|---|---|---|
| Primary objective | Complete the side quest and Relic Trial to unlock the modifier. | Use an already-unlocked modifier in another Cursed match. |
| Progress persistence | Must be completed in one sitting; save-and-quit resets the attempt. | The Relic remains on your account for future selection; the new match is a separate run. |
| What you risk by quitting | Loss of the current acquisition attempt and a restart from the beginning. | No documented loss of the previously unlocked Relic. |
| Typical payoff | Permanent Relic access, plus any completion reward attached to that trial. | Another chance at Cursed Survival rewards such as Relic Charms. |
| Co-op question | Whether teammates receive permanent account credit is not clearly established. | Teammates can participate in the run, but their ownership still should not be assumed without an explicit unlock notice. |
Does Relic progress save if you quit?
Not during the acquisition attempt. Community references consistently describe the portal side quest and Relic Trial as one-sitting activities. If you save and quit halfway through, the portal quest progress is not tracked through the saved game, so you should expect to redo that attempt from the start.
That rule applies to work you have not yet converted into an unlocked Relic. It is different from losing an already-unlocked item. The available guidance does not say that a completed Relic disappears after a failed replay or a save-and-quit from a later Cursed run.

How to avoid losing an acquisition attempt
- Start the trial only when you have enough uninterrupted time to finish it.
- Tell teammates that leaving the session can force a full restart of the unlock attempt.
- Do not treat a mid-run save as a checkpoint for portal objectives.
- Before exiting, look for an explicit completion or unlock confirmation; without that confirmation, assume the Relic is still unearned.
What rewards do Relic runs provide?
Permanent Relic access
The main reward for completing a Relic Trial is access to the Relic as a reusable match modifier. This is the progression that makes later replay possible. You should see the item become selectable in supported Cursed activities after the game records the completion.

Relic Charms
Season 02 patch notes identify Relic Charms among the rewards for surviving Cursed Survival with Relics selected. The notes establish the reward category, but they do not provide a universal number of Charms for every run. Check the current reward panel for the map, mode, and season you are playing.
Reliquary Calling Card progress
Windows Central reports that completing the final Ashes of the Damned Relic awards that Relic and, if the other eight Relics are already unlocked, completes the Reliquary Calling Card challenge. This is a collection condition: replaying one Relic repeatedly does not substitute for unlocking the remaining Relics needed for the Calling Card.
Can friends help in co-op?
Yes, teammates can take part in the same run. A community Relic reference notes that players can still revive a downed teammate during Relic activity, so the modifier does not make ordinary co-op support impossible.

That means a squad can divide responsibility for that particular condition rather than requiring every player to satisfy it individually.

Those facts establish in-run assistance, not shared permanent ownership. The available official and guide material does not clearly state that every participant receives an account-level Relic unlock when one player finishes the trial. Until the game displays an unlock for each account or Activision publishes a definitive rule, treat the reward as belonging to the player whose progression screen records it.
A safe co-op procedure
- Have the intended owner host or join the run with the Relic requirement visible before starting.
- Agree on which player is responsible for conditions that the guide identifies as squad-based or single-player.
- Keep the team together for objectives that can fail when a player is downed or separated.
- After completion, each participant should check their own Relic inventory or challenge screen rather than assuming shared credit.
- If a teammate does not see the unlock, keep the completion result and any on-screen message available when contacting support; do not immediately repeat the trial on the assumption that the first completion was lost.
Planning a successful replay
Replay runs are the lower-risk way to practice a modifier because the Relic is already secured. You can focus on learning how the changed rules affect movement, revives, resource use, and round pacing without putting the original unlock at stake.
Before launching
- Verify the Relic appears as unlocked and selectable.
- Confirm the current map and Cursed mode support that Relic.
- Read the reward panel so you know whether the run is aimed at survival rewards, a challenge condition, or simple practice.
- If you are attempting a first-time unlock instead, schedule a continuous session and warn the squad that save-and-quit will reset progress.
During the match
- Play to the modifier’s rule change rather than relying on habits from a normal round-based match.
- Keep a revive plan for co-op; teammates can still revive one another during Relic activity.
- For requirements such as the Druid Stone Round 20 condition, identify the player who must satisfy the documented condition before the run begins.
- Do not assume a failed replay removes the Relic. The reset warning concerns unfinished acquisition progress.
After the match
- Check whether the expected Relic Charm or other reward appears in the post-match results.
- Confirm that the Relic remains listed for another Cursed run.
- For collection goals, track which Relics are actually unlocked; repeating one item will not complete missing collection entries.
Why a Relic may appear unavailable
If a Relic cannot be selected, check the cause before repeating a trial:
- Wrong activity: Relics are tied to Cursed matches, and the Season 02 notes specifically discuss Cursed Survival on existing round-based maps.
- Unlock not recorded: If the acquisition run ended before its completion confirmation, the one-sitting requirement may have been triggered.
- Seasonal change: Relic requirements and rewards can change with patches. A guide written for one season may not match the current map or objective.
- Co-op assumption: Another player’s completion does not prove that your account received permanent ownership. Check your own progression screen.
- Mode or map restriction: The Relic may be available only where the current ruleset lists it, rather than in every Zombies playlist.
How seasonal patches affect the answer
The broad answer is stable: unlocked Relics are intended to be replayable, while an unfinished acquisition attempt is not a durable save point. Details around a specific trial, map, reward, or mode can change. Activision’s Season 02 notes are the clearest published basis for selecting unlocked Relics in Cursed Survival and earning Relic Charms, but later updates may revise those conditions.
When following a guide, record the map, mode, and patch context. A requirement such as the Druid Stone Round 20 condition is useful only when it matches the version you are playing. If the in-game objective text conflicts with an older guide, follow the current in-game text and treat the guide as historical context.
Bottom line on replaying Relic Challenges
Unlocking a Relic is a one-time progression step; using it again is repeatable. Select the unlocked Relic in a supported Cursed match, including Cursed Survival where available, and play a new run for another chance at the mode’s rewards. Do not quit during a first-time side quest and trial if you want to preserve progress, because that acquisition attempt resets. Co-op teammates can help and revive one another, and some requirements are squad-friendly, but permanent Relic ownership for every participant remains unconfirmed unless the game explicitly records it for each account.
