Usually, yes. Most eligible Fortnite Item Shop cosmetic purchases made with V-Bucks can be cancelled within 24 hours if you have not equipped or used the item. After that, an eligible purchase made within the previous 30 days may be returned with a Return Ticket. The cosmetic is removed and the V-Bucks are credited back. A completed cosmetic refund is final, so check the item and any bundle contents before confirming.
Purchases charged by a console or mobile store rather than Epic use that store’s refund process. The rules below apply to Epic’s self-service process for eligible V-Bucks purchases.

Which Fortnite refund option applies?
Fortnite has two self-service routes for eligible Item Shop cosmetics. The first is an immediate cancellation window that does not consume a Return Ticket. The second is a later return that uses one of the limited tickets on your account.

What can and cannot be refunded
Eligible purchases
The self-service process is for eligible cosmetic purchases from the Fortnite Item Shop that were paid for with V-Bucks. A purchase must still be inside the applicable time window: 24 hours for Cancel Purchase, or no more than 30 days old when using a Return Ticket.
Cancel Purchase has an additional use restriction: you must not have equipped the item or used it in a game mode. Epic describes the feature and its restrictions in its Cancel Purchase guidance. Each item can be cancelled only once.
Excluded categories
Epic’s V-Bucks support guidance excludes these categories from Cancel Purchase and Return Tickets:

- Pass levels and the Premium Reward Track.
- Gifted purchases.
- Level Up Quest Packs.
- Save the World loot llamas, event items and weekly items.
- Purchases made in developer-made islands.
Rewards earned through a Battle Pass are also not eligible. They are gameplay rewards rather than Item Shop purchases. If a purchase was a bundle, Epic requires the entire bundle to be returned together; you cannot keep selected components while returning the rest.
V-Bucks refunds versus real-money refunds
A V-Bucks return is not the same as reversing a credit-card, console-wallet or mobile-store charge. The self-service Fortnite screens return V-Bucks and remove the cosmetic. If a console or mobile store processed the payment outside Epic’s payment flow, Epic directs you to that platform’s support because the platform’s own refund rules govern the request. How to cancel an Item Shop purchase within 24 hours
Cancel Purchase is the best route when the purchase is recent and the cosmetic has not been used. It does not spend a Return Ticket.
In Fortnite
- Open Fortnite on the account that made the purchase.
- Open the player or profile menu.
- Choose Support and Refunds. Depending on the current menu layout, the route may appear under Settings > Account and Privacy.
- Select Return or cancel purchase.
- Choose the cosmetic bought within the last 24 hours.
- Review the confirmation screen, including the item name and the V-Bucks amount.
- Confirm the cancellation. Fortnite removes the cosmetic and displays the credited V-Bucks.
The item must not have been equipped or used in a game mode. If you used it, the Cancel Purchase option may be unavailable even when the 24-hour period has not ended.

- Sign in to the Fortnite Web Item Shop with the account that made the purchase.
- Open the player or profile menu.
- Select Return and Cancel Purchases.
- Choose Show Purchases.
- Select the eligible item, inspect the details and confirm the cancellation.
The web route and the in-game route use the same account eligibility rules. Seeing a purchase in the list does not override the 24-hour deadline or the no-use requirement.

How to use a Return Ticket within 30 days
When more than 24 hours have passed, an eligible Item Shop cosmetic purchased within the previous 30 days may be returned with a Return Ticket. The ticket is consumed when the return is completed.
- Open Fortnite and go to the player or profile menu.
- Open Support and Refunds, or use Settings > Account and Privacy if that is where the option appears.
- Select Return or cancel purchase and choose the Return Ticket route when prompted.
- Review the list of purchases eligible for return.
- Select the cosmetic and, if it is a bundle, verify that you are returning the complete bundle.
- Read the confirmation screen carefully, including the ticket cost and V-Bucks credit.
- Confirm. The cosmetic is removed, the V-Bucks are credited and one Return Ticket is used.
You can also do this on the web: sign in to the Fortnite Web Item Shop, open the profile menu, choose Return and Cancel Purchases, select Show Purchases, choose the item and confirm.
How many Return Tickets do you get?
Epic’s current published policy sets both the starting balance and the cap at three tickets:

Epic summarizes the replenishment rule as: “You get 1 new return ticket every 365 days.” The annual replenishment applies only while your balance is below three. Epic also states that “Epic Games Support cannot grant additional Return Tickets.”
These are policy limits published by Epic Games Player Support, not a promise that an account can refund three purchases every year. A ticket is only useful for a purchase that also meets the item, category and 30-day requirements.
Because the annual replenishment applies only below the cap, reaching three tickets and leaving them unused does not create a balance above three. Spending a ticket can eventually allow the account to receive a later replenishment, subject to Epic’s timing and account rules.
Plan around the two time windows
The deadlines determine which route you should try first. A purchase inside the first 24 hours may qualify for Cancel Purchase, but only if it has not been equipped or used. That route preserves every Return Ticket on the account. Once that cancellation period has passed, the same cosmetic may still be listed for a Return Ticket until it is 30 days old, provided it is otherwise eligible.
Do not wait for the annual ticket date if the purchase is approaching the 30-day limit. The 365-day rule controls when a new ticket is added; it does not extend the age of an individual purchase. Likewise, having a ticket does not override an exclusion such as a pass, gift, Battle Pass reward or developer-made-island purchase.

Check the confirmation screen: refunds cannot be undone
Epic states that you cannot reverse a refunded cosmetic item. Once you confirm, the cosmetic leaves the account and the V-Bucks return; there is no self-service “undo” that restores the original purchase.
- Confirm that the selected item is the one you intended to return.
- For a bundle, check that every included item is acceptable to lose because the complete bundle is returned together.
- Check the V-Bucks credit and the number of Return Tickets that will remain.
- Do not confirm merely to test whether an item is eligible.

Why a purchase may not appear in the return list
The purchase list is not a complete history of every Fortnite transaction. Epic’s recent-purchases guidance covers purchases from the last 30 days, and the return screen filters that history for the applicable rules. If an item is missing, work through these checks:
- Age: The purchase may be older than 30 days, or older than 24 hours for Cancel Purchase.
- Item type: It may be a pass, pass level, Premium Reward Track, Level Up Quest Pack, gifted purchase, Save the World item, developer-made-island purchase or Battle Pass reward.
- Use: You may have equipped or used it, which prevents Cancel Purchase.
- Bundle: The system may require the entire bundle rather than an individual component.
- Account: You may be signed into a different Epic account from the one that made the purchase.
- Payment channel: The charge may have gone through a console or mobile store, so it will not be handled by Epic’s V-Bucks return screen.
To verify the transaction history, use Epic’s How to view recent purchases in Fortnite instructions. If the item is outside the listed windows or in an excluded category, repeatedly reopening the menu will not make it eligible.
Can a skin be refunded without a ticket?
Do not assume that a ticket-free return is available. Epic says certain specific items may qualify for a tokenless refund under special circumstances, but this is an item-specific exception and is not promised for every request. The normal choices remain Cancel Purchase within 24 hours, or a Return Ticket for an eligible purchase within 30 days.
Epic explains the limited exception in Why can I refund some cosmetic items without a token in Fortnite?. If the account does not display a ticket-free option, you should not treat that omission as an error or expect Support to add one.
What to do when the payment came from a console or mobile store
Identify who actually charged you before submitting a request. If the receipt comes from a console marketplace or mobile app store and the purchase was made outside Epic’s payment flow, contact that store’s support and follow its refund form. The platform decides under its own terms, timelines and regional consumer rules.

Do not describe a platform-store charge as an Epic V-Bucks return: Epic’s in-game process removes a cosmetic and credits V-Bucks, while a platform request may concern a real-money transaction. Keep the original receipt, transaction date, account identifier and item name available for the platform’s review.

- Was the purchase paid with V-Bucks through Epic? If no, contact the console or mobile store that processed the charge.
- Is it an excluded item or a Battle Pass-earned reward? If yes, it is not eligible for the two V-Bucks self-service routes.
- Is it less than 24 hours old and unused? Use Cancel Purchase without spending a ticket.
- Is it more than 24 hours but no more than 30 days old? Check whether a Return Ticket is available and whether the item is eligible.
- Is it a bundle? Decide whether you are willing to return every part before continuing.
- Have you checked the final screen? Confirm only after verifying the item, bundle contents, V-Bucks credit and ticket balance because the refund cannot be reversed.
What the refund changes on your account
A successful V-Bucks return has two linked effects: the cosmetic is removed from the account and the corresponding V-Bucks are credited. Cancel Purchase leaves your Return Ticket balance unchanged; a Return Ticket return lowers that balance by one. The process does not convert the item into a partial refund, preserve bundle components or create a general-purpose cash credit.
If the purchase was not eligible, the safest next step is to identify the reason shown by the account—age, use, category, bundle treatment or payment channel—rather than trying to force a different route. Epic’s published help pages are the controlling instructions for the labels and options displayed on your account.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Equipping the skin to “test” it: Use can remove Cancel Purchase eligibility during the 24-hour window.
- Assuming every cosmetic is refundable: Passes, gifts, quest packs, Save the World items, island purchases and earned rewards follow different rules or are excluded.
- Returning one part of a bundle: The complete bundle goes back together.
- Confusing a ticket with a cash refund: A Return Ticket gives back V-Bucks; it does not automatically reverse a platform charge.
- Confirming the wrong line item: The completed return is permanent, so read the item name, bundle details, V-Bucks amount and remaining ticket count.
- Expecting Support to replenish tickets on request: Epic says additional Return Tickets cannot be granted by Support.
