I could not verify an authorized PC release of P.T.. The original was a free PlayStation 4 teaser for the cancelled Silent Hills project, later delisted by Konami. Unofficial PC recreations have existed, but the fact that a build is playable, free, or made by fans does not establish that Konami authorized it.
Is there an official PC version of P.T.?
No official PC version is verified in the sources available for this article. P.T. was released as a free PlayStation Store playable teaser in 2014 and was later delisted by Konami, according to a 2024 account in the Cardozo Arts & Entertainment Law Journal. That source describes its history; it is not a live inventory of every storefront, so the careful conclusion is that no authorized PC route could be verified—not that every possible release has been exhaustively ruled out.

Recent social-media posts have claimed a native PC port using original game files. The sources reviewed here do not authenticate those claims or establish the project’s licensing, provenance, or availability. Do not treat a post or download page as proof of an official release.
What does Konami’s fan-content policy allow?
Konami Digital Entertainment B.V.’s European support page says: “Generally, Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. does not object to fans using copyrighted materials for non-commercial purposes, and in a manner which does not intentionally spoil the plot of a game for other players.” The page defines noncommercial use to exclude promoting a product or making a profit, including monetizing a website or media channel. It also says Konami reserves the right to request takedowns or remove content it finds objectionable on a case-by-case basis, and that it cannot grant permission for graphics, logos, music, or other content licensed by Konami or its partners. See the full Konami support policy.

This is a general statement of policy from Konami Digital Entertainment B.V., not an individualized permission for a particular P.T. port, and it should not be read as a worldwide license. It describes non-objection to certain noncommercial fan uses; it does not explicitly authorize making and distributing a playable port.
What happened to earlier PC fan projects?
Fan recreations have ranged from Unreal Engine remakes to game modifications. The 2024 legal scholarship article recounts that many attracted demands for removal. A secondary overview, citing contemporary reporting, records a PC remake released in 2018 that was shut down after Konami action and a separate Unreal Engine remake released in 2019 that its developer pulled. Those examples show that fan projects have faced removal; they do not establish the status of every build or file circulating now.

Using Unreal Engine does not confer rights to Konami’s game or assets. Similarly, Epic’s fan-content rules concern Epic intellectual property and require compliance with law; they do not grant permission to use Konami material. See Epic Games’ fan-content policy for its limited scope.

- Mount is not included
- Authorization: Is there a verifiable statement or license from Konami covering that project?
- What is distributed: Does the package include original assets or executable code, or does it rely on files obtained separately?
- File provenance: How were the files obtained, and are they being redistributed?
- Distribution and monetization: Who distributes the build, and is it used to promote a product or make money?
- Jurisdiction and conduct: Which country’s law applies, and what exactly did the user or developer do?
The sources cited here do not determine the legal effect of those facts for an individual. A free download is not automatically authorized, and the available evidence does not justify declaring every act of downloading or playing automatically illegal. If you need an answer about a particular port or jurisdiction, consult a qualified local attorney.

No official PC version or authorized PC route was verified here. Historical fan projects were removed or withdrawn, and newer social-media claims are unverified. Do not assume that a fan-made build is licensed just because it is free or technically works; the legality of a specific project or use depends on details this evidence does not resolve.
