Is God of War: Sons of Sparta officially available on PC?
No. Sony’s reviewed support, store, and announcement pages list God of War Sons of Sparta for PlayStation 5, with a release date of February 12, 2026. They do not announce a native Windows version. Sony’s support page and launch announcement are the official references for the platform and release information.

What does the 60 FPS PC report actually show?
In a Reddit post dated October 4, 2026, user OverkillLabs said a PS5 release build ran on Windows using AnyPS5, describing the project as a compatibility layer that reimplements missing PS5 system libraries and GPU functions. The author likened its approach to Wine and DXVK and reported: “Around 60 FPS on my machine (5800X3D, RTX 5070 Ti).” The post also says keyboard, mouse, and controller input work. This is one poster’s result on one configuration, not an independent test, official specification, or guarantee for other PCs. The same post identifies important limitations:
- Shader glitches may appear during the first play session.
- The intro video can pause on a dark frame.
- Crashes or freezes occur occasionally.
- The author had not completed a full playthrough.
- Testing was limited to NVIDIA hardware and game version 01.008.001.
There are no independent performance statistics in the reviewed sources. The reported frame rate should therefore be read as an early, configuration-specific observation, not evidence that the game consistently runs at 60 FPS across PC hardware.

What is the game, and what can you play?
Sony describes God of War Sons of Sparta as a canon 2D action platformer set during Kratos’ youth and Spartan training at the Agoge, alongside his brother Deimos. Mega Cat Studios partnered on the game, and Sony says the writing team is from Santa Monica Studio. Its announced features include spear-and-shield combat, divine artifacts called the Gifts of Olympus, familiar and new creatures, and hand-drawn pixel animation. Official PS5 editions and launch prices
Sony lists digital Standard and Digital Deluxe editions for PS5. The Deluxe edition includes the full game, in-game items, a digital artbook, a digital soundtrack, and a PlayStation avatar. Sony’s February 12, 2026 announcement gave these launch prices; current regional store prices may differ.

These figures are Sony’s launch prices, not a claim about today’s price in every country. The reviewed Sony materials document digital editions; they do not establish a physical game edition. The official platform path in those materials is PS5.

What to conclude if you are looking for a PC version
If you want an officially supported version, Sony’s reviewed listings point to PS5. If you have seen the 60 FPS claim, it refers to one user’s reported result from running a PS5 build through AnyPS5—not a Sony PC release, a broad hardware recommendation, or a verified benchmark. The community project’s compatibility and stability may change after the October 4, 2026 report, but that post alone cannot establish how it performs on other systems or across a complete playthrough.
