Vidgo’s website and App Store listing contain historical feature information, but neither establishes that the service is currently operating or how live pause works today. A September 2023 App Store reviewer reported being unable to pause ESPN; that is one customer’s experience, not a universal rule.
What the available evidence says about pausing Vidgo
Vidgo’s official website describes live TV, on-demand programming and cloud DVR, but it also uses pre-launch language: it calls the app “coming soon” and invites visitors to sign up for an availability update. That page does not confirm current service availability or live-pause support. Vidgo’s website

The App Store listing preserves historical descriptions and update notes through 2023. It does not establish that the app or service currently works. In a review dated September 17, 2023, a customer displayed as “zzzsportsfan” wrote, “Can’t pause ESPN.” This is evidence of one reported experience with ESPN, not proof of an official policy or of behavior on every channel, device, app version or account. Accordingly, if you have a functioning Vidgo app, you can try its on-screen playback controls, but the available evidence does not support promising that live pause will appear or work for every stream.

Pause, rewind, DVR and VOD resume are different
These features affect playback in different ways. A service may offer one without offering the others, and the historical Vidgo descriptions do not verify their present availability.
| Feature | What it does | What is established for Vidgo |
|---|---|---|
| Pause live TV | Temporarily stops a live stream, typically using a playback buffer. | Current support is not verified. |
| Rewind or restart live TV | Moves backward within a live program or starts it again. Availability can depend on the channel, program rights, app and device. | No reliable current Vidgo policy is established. |
| Cloud DVR | Saves a program to an account for later playback; it is a recording, not a temporary pause. | Vidgo historically advertised cloud DVR. Its App Store listing said DVR was available on selected packages and described it as exclusive to Premium customers in a feature announcement. Current availability and eligibility are unverified. App Store listing |
| Resume VOD | Continues an on-demand title from a previous stopping point. | The App Store version history mentioned resume playback for on-demand content. That does not demonstrate live-pause support. App Store listing |
Why Roku’s pause feature does not settle the question
Roku distinguishes cloud DVR provided by eligible streaming subscriptions from its own Live TV Pause feature. Roku Live TV Pause requires an antenna or directly connected cable-TV input and a USB drive. It is not evidence that a Roku device can add pause support to a Vidgo internet stream. Roku: How to use Live TV Pause
Buying a remote, streaming stick or USB drive therefore is not an established fix for a Vidgo stream that cannot be paused. No cited source shows that device hardware can override a limitation imposed by a streaming service or channel.

Check availability before troubleshooting
The current status is uncertain as of October 2026. Vidgo’s website still includes pre-launch wording, and the App Store record is historical rather than a dependable current compatibility or support guide. A secondary Vidgo history reports that Harmonic withdrew app support on September 29, 2023, and that signups were no longer possible as of March 2024; this is a dated secondary account, not an official current status notice. Suppose.tv’s Vidgo history
The available sources do not establish whether Vidgo currently accepts signups or delivers streams, and they do not provide a current official help article explaining live-pause limits by channel, region, device, app version or plan. Confirm service availability through a current official Vidgo channel before relying on troubleshooting instructions.
