There is no official native PC release identified in the sources checked. EA’s 2007 launch announcement lists the game for six console and handheld platforms, not PC, and a check of EA’s PC download catalog on October 4, 2026, did not surface a title-specific listing. That does not prove that no authorized PC offer has ever existed in any region, or that none could appear later.

Was The Simpsons Game released for PC?

EA announced that The Simpsons Game had shipped in North America on October 30, 2007. Its platform list includes PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, PSP, Xbox 360, Wii, and Nintendo DS; it does not include PC. EA’s PC download catalog search, checked October 4, 2026, also did not surface a title-specific listing. These checks support saying that an official native PC release or download was not identified—not the broader claim that no lawful PC offer has ever existed anywhere.

EA’s service-update page includes the game under PS3 and Xbox 360 pre-2013 entries. That is a record of service updates, not confirmation that the game is currently for sale or that every online feature still works.

Does owning a console copy make a PC download legal?

Not automatically. Downloading a disc image, making a copy of a disc you own, and running a console version through an emulator are distinct situations. Their legality can depend on the country or state, how the files were obtained, and whether firmware is involved. The sources available here do not establish the law for any particular jurisdiction, so they cannot support a blanket assurance that downloading or emulating this game is legal—or a blanket claim that it is always illegal.

EA’s general Terms of Sale discuss EA content and purchases from authorized third parties. They do not determine whether a downloaded console image, an owned-disc copy, an emulator, or particular firmware is lawful under local law.

What are the legitimate options supported by the available information?

Play on one of the original platforms

The verified original platforms are PS3, PS2, PSP, Xbox 360, Wii, and Nintendo DS. A PS2 physical copy is a related product for play on compatible original hardware or for collecting; it is not a PC download or a standalone way to play on a computer. Current stock, condition, and seller availability have not been verified.

Check EA’s catalog for an authorized PC offer

The EA PC download catalog check on October 4, 2026, did not find a title-specific listing. Catalog availability can change, so that result is a dated check rather than proof about every region or future listing. EA’s general terms mention authorized third-party purchases, but do not confirm that any particular seller currently offers this game.

Consider emulation only after checking local law

The evidence here does not establish whether using an emulator, obtaining a game image, copying a disc, or using firmware is lawful in your jurisdiction. Before downloading files or setting up an emulator, check current jurisdiction-specific legal guidance. Do not treat ownership of a physical copy by itself as a legal answer to every part of that process.

What EA’s records do—and do not—establish

EA’s launch announcement names Twentieth Century Fox Licensing and Merchandising, Twentieth Century Fox Television, and Gracie Films in connection with the game’s creation. That 2007 statement does not establish who owns or administers the relevant rights today. Likewise, the service-update record for PS3 and Xbox 360 does not establish current sales or the present state of online services.
