Can you keep cars you steal in GTA 5 story mode?

The Verdict

In GTA 5 story mode, you can keep a car you steal—as long as you take it to a garage (or another valid storage location) and park it there. Once it’s stored, it’ll stay available for that character and can be used later.

If you just steal a vehicle and leave it on the street, it’s much more likely to disappear after a while (or get replaced by traffic/spawn changes). So the key is storage, not just ownership-by-driving it.
