If Join is missing, open the channel’s homepage or its /join link on another supported YouTube surface; YouTube specifically lists a computer as an alternative. There is no separately documented joining rule for a 24/7 stream.
Does watching a 24/7 stream change how membership works?
YouTube’s membership guidance describes a new-member chat message when someone joins during a live stream on that channel. It does not distinguish continuous 24/7 streams from other live streams, or describe a special purchase process for them. The key question is whether the YouTube app or page you are using offers the Join purchase flow.

YouTube says Join is not available on every platform. Its smart TV app guidance covers signing in and watching YouTube content, but does not confirm that memberships can be purchased in every TV app. So the answer depends on what the app presents: neither “all smart TVs support joining” nor “no smart TVs support joining” is established by that guidance.

What to do if Join is missing on your TV
- Check that you are signed in. Make sure the TV app is using the Google account with which you want to become a member.
- Open the channel page. Look for Join on the channel homepage, rather than only in the live player. YouTube identifies the channel homepage as an alternative place to join.
- Switch devices if Join still is not shown. On a phone, tablet, or computer, open the channel’s YouTube URL and append
/jointo the channel URL, or visit the channel homepage. YouTube explicitly suggests joining on a computer when Join is unavailable on the current platform. Use the channel’s actual URL; the exact address format varies by channel. - Finish the purchase flow where Join is available. Choose the offered membership level and review its price, terms, and perks before confirming.
- Return to the TV to watch. After joining, sign in on the TV with the account that holds the membership. Perks are available on supported YouTube platforms, though an individual perk may have its own access conditions.
Why a channel’s Join button may not appear
The current platform does not offer checkout
YouTube says memberships cannot be joined on every platform. If Join is absent only in the TV app, try the channel homepage or the computer fallback rather than assuming the channel has no membership program.

The channel or viewer is not eligible
The creator must have memberships enabled, and both the creator and viewer must be in supported regions. YouTube’s stated buyer age requirement is generally 18 or older, and 19 in Korea and Algeria; buyers must also accept the applicable paid terms. If Join is absent on other devices too, check the channel’s membership availability and the account’s eligibility.
You are looking at the live player rather than the channel page
A Join control may be available on the channel homepage even when it is not shown in the live-stream view. Use the channel page or its /join link as the alternate route.

What happens after you join?
Membership levels and benefits are set by each channel. Depending on the channel and level, perks may include loyalty badges, emoji, posts, members-only content, or other creator benefits. YouTube says that when someone becomes a member during a live stream on that channel, a bright green “New Member” message is sent in live chat. The guidance does not specify a separate announcement behavior for a 24/7 stream.
StreamNeo is for channel owners, not a way to buy membership
If you run a 24/7 YouTube channel, StreamNeo is a separate cloud service for keeping uploaded videos live on YouTube. It does not affect whether a viewer can purchase a channel membership. A channel owner uploads a recording or playlist, adds the YouTube stream key, and starts the stream; StreamNeo loops the uploaded video from the cloud, so a home computer does not need to stay on.
