Sometimes the box tells you which series it belongs to and shows the regular figures in that series. That does not mean you can identify the specific figure inside a sealed box. For POP MART blind boxes, the company describes the contents as a surprise; its official information does not establish that a barcode, box code, weight, sound, or other exterior clue reliably reveals the figure.
What the package can tell you
A blind-box package can identify the product series and show its regular lineup. POP MART describes blind boxes as packaging that keeps the collectible a mystery until opening, and its FAQ says buyers cannot request a specific figure. The lineup is useful for seeing which regular designs belong to that series; it is not a published key to the design in each sealed box. POP MART’s FAQ explains the format, while an example THE MONSTERS COCA-COLA SERIES Vinyl Face Blind Box listing shows the series’ product details.

That example listing gives a release date of January 24, 2025, a stated size of 15.5–17 cm (6.1–6.69 inches), and materials of polyester, ABS, PVC, and iron wire. Those are specifications for that product, not universal details about blind-box figures.

Can a barcode, box code, weight, or sound reveal the figure?
Not on the evidence established by POP MART’s official information. The sources describe the random format but do not validate any barcode, printed code, package weight, sound, or small packaging variation as a dependable way to identify the individual figure. Treat collector anecdotes and third-party code lists as unverified unless they are supported by reliable information for the exact series.

How secret figures affect what you can know
Some series include secret figures that may randomly replace a regular figure. POP MART’s product listing says secret figures are usually not included in the standard 12-box set. Its Australian explainer also says that buying a set of 12 does not guarantee a secret figure. These details apply to the relevant series and market; check the specific product listing rather than assuming every series follows the same rules. POP MART Australia’s blind-box explainer describes the set-of-12 caveat.

What POP MART’s authenticity code actually checks
POP MART’s authenticity check is separate from identifying a figure. The company’s instructions say to scratch the coating on the Box Label Code, reveal the verification code, then visit its authenticity-check page and enter it. The page describes outcomes such as a genuine first scan, multiple scans, and a scan-count limit. It does not say the code identifies the concealed design, so a successful check should not be treated as proof of which figure is inside.
POP MART says items bought from its official website, official stores, ROBOSHOP vending machines, or other authorized online platforms are guaranteed to be authentic and verifiable. That is the company’s own guidance about authenticity; it does not establish the contents of a particular unopened box.

How to assess a packaging clue
- Check what it establishes: a series name or lineup describes the product range, not necessarily the individual contents.
- Look for authoritative, series-specific support: a clue should not be treated as reliable based only on an anecdote or a list that cannot be verified against the exact series.
- Separate authenticity from identity: a verification code can address authenticity or scan history without revealing the figure.
- Consider whether the method damages the package: POP MART’s code check requires scratching the label, and that step still does not identify the contents.
