Yes, but only when the phone or the speakers support simultaneous playback. A compatible Samsung Galaxy phone can send media to two Bluetooth audio devices with Dual Audio. Alternatively, some speaker families let the phone connect to one speaker while that speaker links to a second compatible unit. Pairing two ordinary speakers in a phone’s Bluetooth menu does not, by itself, make both play at the same time.
Two ways to play one phone’s audio on two speakers
There are two fundamentally different designs for a two-speaker setup:
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
- Phone-level output: the phone maintains connections to both speakers and sends the same media stream to each. Samsung calls its supported implementation Dual Audio.
- Speaker-to-speaker linking: the phone connects to one speaker, and that speaker relays the audio to another compatible speaker through the manufacturer’s shared-playback system.
These routes are not interchangeable. A phone may support two Bluetooth audio outputs while a pair of speakers does not support inter-speaker linking. Conversely, a speaker pair may provide its own party or stereo mode even when the phone cannot independently transmit to two speakers.

| Setup | Where simultaneous playback happens | Main compatibility check | Typical listening mode | How you control it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Samsung Galaxy Dual Audio | Phone sends media to both Bluetooth devices | Eligible Galaxy model, Bluetooth 5.0 guidance, and supported software | Same media on both outputs | Galaxy Quick panel and Media panel |
| Speaker linking | One connected speaker relays audio to another | Exact speaker models and the same supported linking generation | Party/shared playback; stereo may require identical models | Speaker buttons or the maker’s companion controls |
| Pairing two ordinary speakers | No simultaneous path is established merely by pairing | Phone and speakers must offer an additional multi-output feature | Usually one selected audio output | Phone chooses an audio device |
| Headphone multipoint | Two source devices connect to one headset or pair of headphones | Multipoint-capable headphones and two source devices | Headphones switch between sources | Headphone and source-device controls |
The final row is included because “multipoint” is often misunderstood. It connects one listening device to two sources; it does not make one phone transmit to two Bluetooth speakers.

Samsung Galaxy Dual Audio: use the phone as the distributor
Samsung describes Dual Audio as sending media audio to two different Bluetooth devices at once. Its support guidance, updated September 12, 2024, limits the feature to certain devices with Bluetooth 5.0. That is Samsung’s device eligibility guidance, not a promise that every Bluetooth 5.0 phone supports two-speaker output. Confirm the exact Galaxy model and software before relying on the feature.
Check the prerequisites
- Use a Galaxy phone that supports Dual Audio.
- Install the phone’s available software updates, then verify the feature in the current Bluetooth and media controls.
- Have both speakers powered on and discoverable.
- Make sure each speaker can be paired independently with the phone.
Set up both speakers
- Open Settings on the Galaxy phone.
- Tap Connections, then Bluetooth.
- Pair the first speaker and complete its connection.
- Pair the second speaker from the same Bluetooth screen.
- Swipe down to open the phone’s Quick panel.
- Tap Media to open the media-output controls.
- Select both connected speakers as audio outputs.
- Start or resume playback and check that both speakers are selected in the output list.
Samsung notes that menu names and locations can differ by model and software version. If the Media control is not visible, open the Quick panel layout controls and enable the Devices and Media buttons, then return to the panel and try again.
What Dual Audio does and does not promise
Dual Audio is intended to send the same media to two Bluetooth audio devices, including two speaker sets. It does not make two different audio tracks play independently, and it does not remove the need for each speaker to maintain a usable Bluetooth connection. A supported phone can still show only one output if a speaker failed to pair, disconnected, or is incompatible with the phone’s current software.

Speaker-to-speaker linking: connect one speaker, then add the other
Many portable-speaker systems handle two-speaker playback inside the speakers rather than inside the phone. In this arrangement, the phone connects to one speaker. You then activate the manufacturer’s shared-playback control on that speaker and on the second compatible unit. The phone continues to treat the first speaker as its Bluetooth connection while the speaker system distributes the audio.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
Use the exact linking system supported by the speakers
Read the manual or support page for the precise speaker models. Manufacturers may have multiple linking generations with similar names that do not interoperate. Do not assume that two speakers from the same brand can link simply because both advertise a party mode.
Example: a PartyBoost-style setup
JBL’s PartyBoost instructions illustrate the general process:
- Turn on both compatible speakers.
- Connect the phone to one speaker and begin playback.
- Press the PartyBoost control on the connected speaker.
- Within the joining period, press the PartyBoost control on the second compatible speaker.
- Allow a few seconds for the second speaker to join before judging whether the setup worked.
The buttons, app screens, and joining time can differ across speaker families, so use the controls named for your own model. The important sequence is phone to first speaker, then first speaker to second speaker.

Party playback and stereo are different
“Two speakers” can mean either two speakers playing the same channel content or a true left-right stereo pair. Those modes have different requirements.

Party or shared playback
Party mode sends the shared program to multiple compatible speakers so sound covers a larger area. A manufacturer may allow some non-identical models in this mode, provided they belong to the same supported linking family.
True stereo
Stereo mode assigns left and right channels to separate speakers. JBL’s cited PartyBoost instructions require two speakers of the same model for stereo mode. A pair that works for shared party playback therefore may not qualify as a stereo pair. Check the model-specific instructions before buying a second unit or expecting left-right separation.
Why generation names matter
JBL distinguishes older Connect and Connect+ systems from PartyBoost. Those generations are not automatically compatible with each other. The same principle applies to other manufacturers: matching brand names is not enough; the speakers must support the same linking system and, where required, the same model family.

Apple’s support guidance explains pairing multiple Bluetooth accessories and choosing which audio source to use. If the speakers have their own linking mode, follow the speaker maker’s instructions: connect the iPhone to the primary speaker, then add the second speaker through the speaker system. If they do not, verify the exact iPhone model, iOS version, and speaker combination before promising simultaneous playback. Availability can vary with device generation and software, so avoid assuming that a result on one iPhone applies to every iPhone.
Why pairing two speakers often produces only one output
Bluetooth pairing and simultaneous media routing are separate steps. Pairing creates a remembered connection between devices; the phone still needs an audio-routing feature that can address both outputs, or the speakers need a link mode that distributes the stream.
On phones without a supported multi-output feature, the media controls may let you choose one speaker at a time. Switching between two entries in the output list is not the same as sending audio to both. If the phone shows both devices but only one produces sound, check whether the phone actually offers a two-output selection control or whether the speakers provide their own linking mode.
Compatibility checklist before you buy or set up
- Phone capability: confirm that the exact phone model and software support simultaneous Bluetooth audio, rather than relying on the Bluetooth version alone.
- Speaker capability: look for a documented multi-speaker, party, or stereo-link feature.
- Model matching: verify which models can join together and whether stereo requires two identical units.
- Generation matching: check that both speakers use the same linking generation; Connect, Connect+, PartyBoost, and similarly named systems may not cross-connect.
- Control method: identify whether selection occurs in the phone’s Media panel, through physical speaker buttons, or in a companion app.
- Software qualification: use the current instructions for the exact devices because menus and feature availability change by model and software version.
Troubleshooting when the second speaker is silent
The second speaker never appears
- Return to Bluetooth settings and confirm that the second speaker is powered on and discoverable.
- Disconnect it from another nearby phone or tablet that may have claimed the connection.
- Confirm that the phone is pairing to the speaker itself, not merely displaying an old remembered entry.
- For a speaker-linking setup, stop trying to add it as a second phone output and use the speakers’ documented link control instead.
Both speakers are paired, but only one is selected
- On a compatible Galaxy phone, open the Quick panel, tap Media, and select both outputs.
- If Media is missing, enable the Devices and Media buttons in the Quick panel layout.
- On an iPhone, do not treat two paired entries as confirmation of dual playback; check for a speaker-side linking feature or verify the exact device combination.
The speakers will not link to each other
- Check the manufacturer’s compatibility list for the exact model numbers.
- Confirm that both units use the same linking generation.
- Repeat the documented order: phone to primary speaker first, then activate the link control on both speakers.
- Allow the joining process a few seconds before restarting it.
- If you selected stereo mode, verify that the manufacturer permits that mode with your two models; shared party playback can have broader compatibility than stereo.
Choose the right route for your situation
You already own a supported Galaxy phone
Try Dual Audio first. It avoids buying a particular speaker family, provided both speakers pair normally and the exact Galaxy model supports the feature.

You already own speakers from one linking family
Use the speaker-to-speaker mode. This is usually the relevant path when the phone offers no documented two-output control, and it lets the speakers manage party or stereo behavior themselves.
You want true left-right stereo
Prioritize the speaker maker’s stereo requirements over the phone’s Bluetooth capabilities. A compatible stereo pair may require two identical models even when party mode accepts a wider set of speakers.
You have an iPhone and two unrelated speakers
Do not assume that pairing will be enough. First check whether the speakers share a linking system. If they do not, confirm simultaneous-output support for the exact iPhone, iOS version, and speakers before spending money or promising the setup to someone else.
The practical answer
You can connect two Bluetooth speakers to one phone when at least one side of the system provides a simultaneous-playback path: the phone through a feature such as Samsung Galaxy Dual Audio, or the speakers through a compatible inter-speaker mode. Pairing alone is insufficient. Verify the exact phone software, speaker models, linking generation, and whether you want shared party sound or true stereo before setting up the pair.
