Yes. Galaxy Watch bands are replaceable, but the right release method and replacement depend on your exact watch model. Check the model and case size before buying: Galaxy Watch8 uses a new attachment system, and Galaxy Watch Ultra requires dedicated bands.
How to change a Galaxy Watch band
Samsung provides model-specific removal and attachment guidance; there is no single release method to assume for every generation. For the One-Click bands used with the Galaxy Watch6, Samsung’s steps are:

- Press the release button on the band.
- Pull the band away from the watch.
- Position the replacement band and align its connector.
- Release the button so the band snaps into place.
Samsung says these One-Click bands also fit the Watch4 and Watch5 series. For other generations, follow the instructions for that model rather than assuming the same mechanism. After fitting a band, check that it is attached securely before wearing the watch. Which bands fit your Galaxy Watch?
Compatibility depends on the watch family, case size, attachment system and, for many models, band width. Samsung’s compatibility guidance lists 20 mm connections for several Galaxy Watch families, but that is not a universal Galaxy Watch size. The Watch3 illustrates why checking the precise model matters: Samsung lists 20 mm for the 41 mm version and 22 mm for the 45 mm version.

These are Samsung’s stated compatibility details, not an independent test or a guarantee for every third-party band. Samsung’s lists and product offerings can change; check its current compatibility guidance before purchasing.
Check the fit and wrist size before buying
- Identify the exact watch: Check the model name and case size, not just the Galaxy Watch brand.
- Match the connector: Confirm whether the band uses the correct attachment system; Watch8 and Ultra have dedicated systems.
- Confirm width and compatibility: For models using a stated millimeter width, match it to the watch and verify Samsung’s model-specific compatibility notes. A matching width alone does not guarantee a proper fit.
- Measure your wrist: Samsung lists S/M as fitting 130–190 mm wrists and M/L as fitting 145–205 mm wrists for the specified models. Check the size options for the particular band you are considering.
- Consider material and use: Choose for your intended wear, such as everyday use or exercise, while checking that the band is listed for your watch.
Samsung recommends dedicated bands to optimize smartwatch design and health-measurement tracking. That is manufacturer guidance, not a comparative test of comfort, durability or performance.

Why might a replacement band not fit?
A band can have the wrong width, use a different attachment system or be shaped for another watch’s lugs. Some older and newer models have fit caveats even where Samsung lists compatibility, and a third-party band labeled “20 mm” may still fail to connect properly with Watch4. If it does not align or attach securely, do not force it; verify the exact model and compatibility listing.
