Can You Change Classes in Crystal of Atlan? Switching and Rerolling Explained

Yes, Crystal of Atlan has a Class Change control. Open the Skills screen, select Class Change, and the game sends you to the Account Management Bot. That function is for changing an eligible class or branch on an existing character; it is not automatically the same as starting a different base-class character.

If the base class you want is not offered by the Class Change flow, the dependable alternative is to use another character slot and create a new character. That reroll starts character progression again. Before changing anything, check the current client’s destination list, any displayed cost or cooldown, available slots, and whether a ranked event is in its participation phase.

What “changing class” means in Crystal of Atlan

Crystal of Atlan uses more than one layer of class identity. A character begins with a base class and can have a branch option that changes its combat identity and skill set. The Steam listing from 2025 describes five base classes, 11 class-branch options and more than 20 skills per class. A Google Play listing from 2026 says that more than 10 classes are unlocked from the start and identifies Sugariff as a Fighter branch. Those descriptions use different counting terms and listing dates, so do not treat the number of icons on one screen as a promise that every icon is a separate base character.

Base class versus branch

A branch is a specialization attached to a base-class path. Changing to another available branch can therefore be a change on the same character, while moving to a completely different base class may require a new character. The in-game Class Change menu, rather than a general class count in a store listing, determines which destinations your current character can actually select.

  • Dynamic Z-Axis Combat: Experience fluid, fast-paced action with revolutionary aerial combos and full 3D movement, allowing for nuanced attacks and dodges.

  • Challenging Team Battles: Engage in cooperative dungeons, confront powerful bosses with unique mechanics, and participate in a robust guild fleet system.

Sugariff and the timing exception

The official August 27 update specifically states that Sugariff has no class-change time restrictions. That is a class-specific statement, not proof that every branch or future class has the same rule. Other classes can have version-specific eligibility, event windows or cooldowns, so read the text shown by the Account Management Bot before confirming.

How to use the Class Change button

The official update describes the path in one sentence: Added a Class Change button to the Skills screen. Pressing it takes you to the Account Management Bot to change your class. Use this sequence on the character you want to modify:

  1. Log in to the character whose class or branch you want to change.
  2. Open the Skills screen from the game interface.
  3. Select Class Change. If the control is missing, update the client and check whether the character meets the current eligibility rules.
  4. Follow the handoff to the Account Management Bot.
  5. Review the classes or branches the bot offers. The list is the authoritative answer for that character and current version; do not assume every class named in a store listing is selectable here.
  6. Read the confirmation panel for any price, item requirement, cooldown, event restriction, progression warning or ranking warning.
  7. Confirm only after checking the destination and the consequences. If the game presents a final confirmation, capture the displayed details before accepting so you have a record of the rule that applied.

The sources establish the button and the bot route, but they do not establish one universal price, cooldown or destination list for every release. Those values can depend on the current version and an active event. A guide that gives one permanent fee without identifying its version or event is not reliable.

Changing a branch on your existing character

Use Class Change when the desired option appears in the bot for the character you already built. This is the option to investigate when you want to keep that character’s identity and access a different specialization rather than begin at level one.

  • Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO): Connect and play with friends in a vibrant online world.
  • Action RPG Combat: Experience fast-paced, fluid combat with a strong emphasis on skillful execution.
  • Dynamic Aerial Combos: Utilize a unique Z-axis combat system for exhilarating mid-air attacks and dodges.
  • Multiple Classes & Subclasses: Choose from over 10 initial classes, each with multiple subclass specializations, offering vast build diversity.

What to verify before confirming

  • Destination: Confirm the exact branch name and class description. Similar names can represent different skill paths.
  • Progression treatment: Read whether levels, quests, skill investment or other progress are retained, converted or reset. The cited official notices do not promise one universal treatment for every class change.
  • Gear: Check whether equipped items remain usable by the destination. Class restrictions can affect what a character can equip even when the items remain on the account.
  • Cosmetics: The official materials do not promise that every appearance or class-locked cosmetic carries over. Treat cosmetic preservation as unconfirmed until the current confirmation screen says otherwise.
  • Cost and availability: Accept only the fee, item requirement and timing shown in your client.
  • Ranked events: Check the event phase before making the change; the ranking rule can be more important than the class benefit.

What the Class Change button does not guarantee

The existence of a button does not mean that it is a free, unlimited, account-wide reroll tool. It also does not prove that a character can jump between every base class. The bot may expose only certain branches, require an event condition, or apply a class-specific restriction. If the intended base class is absent, stop the flow rather than assuming that a later screen will add it.

Switching a class or rerolling a new base character

These are separate decisions. A class change modifies an existing character through the bot. A reroll creates a separate character in another slot, which is the dependable route when the base class you want is not available on the current character.

Question Class Change on the current character New-character reroll
How it starts Skills screen → Class Change → Account Management Bot Create a character in another available character slot
What it is for An eligible class or branch offered for the existing character A different base class or a fresh start when the desired option is unavailable
Progress preservation Depends on the current class-change rules; read the confirmation panel New character progression starts over rather than transferring the old character’s levels and quests
Slot requirement Uses the character being changed Requires an open character slot
Account Energy The change does not come with a general promise of extra Account Energy A new slot and Account Energy are separate account constraints
Cost or event availability Version- and event-dependent; no single universal price is established Depends on the account’s slot availability and the current character-creation rules
Gear and cosmetics Compatibility and cosmetic carryover are not universally promised The new character has its own class identity; verify which account-shared items, if any, are available
Ranked-event effect Can wipe scores and rankings during the participation phase Does not change the old character’s class, but event rules may still govern which character can record a result

Community discussions commonly describe making another character as the normal reroll approach, but those reports are anecdotal. Current in-game text and the account’s available slots take priority over an older post or video.

How to reroll into another base class

Rerolling is straightforward, but it has an opportunity cost: you are building a second character instead of converting the first one. Use this process when the bot does not offer the base class you want or when you want two distinct characters.

  1. Open the character-selection or character-management interface and inspect your unused slots.
  2. Confirm that the account has an available slot. Do not assume that a class-change event also creates a permanent slot.
  3. Create a new character and choose the desired base class from the classes currently shown by the client.
  4. Complete the opening tutorial and progression on that character. The new character’s levels, quests and skill development begin separately.
  5. Check account-wide systems individually. A slot grant, shared inventory rule or Account Energy allowance can have different scope from character progression.
  6. Keep the original character until the new one has the skills, equipment access and event eligibility you need. Deleting or converting the old character can create additional restrictions that are not part of ordinary character creation.

Planning around character slots

The official August 27 update said eligible players could receive one additional character slot, while Account Energy would not increase. That was a launch-event rule, not a permanent guarantee for every class release. If your account received that slot, it can make a reroll possible without deleting a character; if it did not, you must work within the slots currently shown in the client.

Think of slots and Account Energy as two independent limits. Having room for another character does not automatically provide more Account Energy, and an Account Energy limit does not tell you how many character slots you own. Check both before committing to a second build.

Will your gear, appearance and cosmetics carry over?

There is no cited official promise that a class change preserves every appearance or class-locked cosmetic. Some account systems may share items, while others attach an item or appearance to a character or class. Because the available evidence does not define a universal carryover rule, do not spend resources on the assumption that a costume, hairstyle, weapon appearance or other class-specific cosmetic will remain usable after conversion.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

A safe pre-change check

  • Open the bot’s final review and look for an inventory, equipment or appearance warning.
  • Unequip anything the destination may not support if the game warns that equipped items can be removed or become unusable.
  • Record the current appearance and item names so you can compare the character after the change.
  • If the screen is silent, treat silence as uncertainty rather than as a guarantee. Keep the original character and reroll instead if preserving a specific cosmetic matters more than changing immediately.

Ranked-event warning: a class change can erase results

Class changes have a special consequence during ranked events. The official event rules state: During the event participation phase, if you perform any changes to your class (Class Change, Character Conversion, Character Restoration), your current scores and rankings will be wiped clean, and after the class change, you will be unable to set records or enter the rankings. The rule has an exception for the reward-finalization phase.

How to apply the rule

  1. Open the event page and identify whether the event is in its participation phase or reward-finalization phase.
  2. If participation is active, record any score you care about before changing. A class change can remove the score and ranking immediately.
  3. Do not assume that changing back restores the old result. The stated rule says scores and rankings are wiped and that new records and ranking entries are blocked after the change.
  4. Wait for the reward-finalization phase if the event schedule allows and the class change can safely be postponed.
  5. After changing, read the event page again before attempting a record; the restriction can remain for the applicable event window.

This warning is about class changes, not a general statement that every new character deletes an account’s results. It is still sensible to check the event’s own character-eligibility rules before using a reroll for competitive play.

Choosing the right route

Use Class Change when

  • The desired branch appears in the Account Management Bot.
  • You want to modify the existing character instead of leveling a second one.
  • You have checked the displayed cost, cooldown, progression treatment and cosmetic warning.
  • You are outside a ranked event’s participation phase, or you accept the loss of the current result.

Reroll when

  • The desired base class is not listed by Class Change.
  • You want two separate characters with different class identities.
  • You have an open slot and can afford to repeat early progression.
  • Keeping the original character’s score, appearance or class-specific setup is more important than an immediate conversion.

Wait when

  • The bot shows a cost or restriction you cannot verify.
  • A ranked event is in its participation phase and you care about your score.
  • You cannot confirm what happens to gear or cosmetics.
  • The class you want is not listed and you do not yet have a free slot for a new character.

Common problems and practical fixes

The Class Change button is missing

Check that you are on the Skills screen for the intended character, update the game, and look for an event or level requirement in the current client. The official update confirms the control exists, but it does not say that it is visible to every account under every condition.

The desired class is not listed

Do not treat the omission as a temporary loading error until you have reopened the bot and checked the current class rules. If the option remains absent, use another character slot for a base-class reroll rather than repeatedly confirming an unrelated branch.

The account has a slot but not enough Account Energy

That is an expected possibility because the two systems are separate. A slot grant does not increase Account Energy under the cited launch-event rule. Review the account’s energy limit before investing time in a second character.

You changed class and lost a ranking

During the participation phase, the published rule explicitly allows the game to wipe scores and rankings and block new records after the change. Check whether the event has entered reward finalization; changing back is not a stated recovery method.

You are unsure about cosmetics

Do not assume carryover. Read the confirmation text, document the current appearance and consider preserving the original character while testing the new class through a separate slot.

Bottom line for a new character decision

Crystal of Atlan does let you change an eligible class through Skills → Class Change → Account Management Bot. That is the correct first step for an available branch on an existing character. A different base class is a separate case: create a new character in another slot and plan for independent progression. Slot grants may be event-specific, Account Energy may remain unchanged, and a class change during a ranked event’s participation phase can erase scores and rankings. The current bot and event page are the final authorities for cost, eligibility, timing and what your account keeps.
