Weather-resistant is not the same as waterproof
The reports call the tackle-box enclosure waterproof or weatherproof, but give no make or model, formal IP rating, test conditions or evidence that the assembled device can be submerged. A closed protective box may help shield gear from splashes or dirt, but that is not proof that the modified enclosure will keep water out in rain, a capsize or prolonged exposure. Modifying a case can change its protection. Raspberry Pi’s cyberdeck guide says, “A good starting case is a Pelican-style hard case,” describing such cases as robust, normally equipped with a carry handle, and weatherproof. That general guidance does not certify a modified tackle box. In a separate project report, a maker says their own modifications meant the build “does not maintain the Pelican case’s original waterproof rating.” That is a disclosure about that maker’s build, not a universal test result. Galaxy S10 or Raspberry Pi?
A Pi is an alternative project path, not a drop-in replacement for the phone build. The phone-centered design reuses the handset as both computer and display; a Pi project needs its own plan for power and peripherals, and may need a separate screen. Choose based on the hardware you already have, the software you want to run, the enclosure space available and the power you can safely supply.

How to size power for a Pi variant
Do not use Raspberry Pi’s power figures as estimates for the Galaxy S10 build. For a separate Pi design, Raspberry Pi Ltd’s guide says to add the requirements of the computer, peripherals and accessories, using their datasheets or manuals. Its example gives a Pi 5 worst-case USB-loaded requirement of 25 W at 5 V/5 A and approximately 3 W for a Touch Display 2 at full brightness. Under those stated assumptions, the example totals roughly 28 W, or 5.6 A at 5 V. The guide lists a power bank among possible supplies and warns that LiPo batteries need careful handling and charging. It advises against over-discharging them and recommends a fuse near the battery and monitoring cell voltage. Size the supply for the actual board and accessories you select rather than copying the example total.
