While signed in and able to watch the video, open it, select More > Save, then choose a playlist. YouTube’s playlist instructions describe this method but do not expressly confirm that every age-restricted video can be added, so success is not guaranteed.
How to try adding the video
- Sign in to YouTube and open the age-restricted video. You must be able to watch it; age-restricted videos are unavailable to signed-out viewers and people under 18.
- Select More below the video, then choose Save.
- Choose an existing playlist, or create one if the option is available. Look for YouTube’s confirmation that the video was saved.
YouTube documents this workflow on desktop and in its mobile app. The official instructions do not specifically settle whether every age-restricted video is eligible to be saved to a playlist, so try the steps rather than assuming they will always work. YouTube playlist instructions

What adding it to a playlist does—and does not do
A playlist organizes videos; it does not change who can watch them. Age restrictions still apply: signed-out users and viewers under 18 cannot watch the video. Most third-party websites cannot play age-restricted videos either, and viewers are redirected to YouTube. Depending on the region, YouTube may also ask viewers to verify their age. If “Save” is missing
YouTube’s published help instructions reviewed here do not give an age-restriction-specific explanation for a missing Save control. They therefore do not establish that age restriction is the cause, or identify a guaranteed fix. Check that you are signed in and viewing the video on YouTube, then try the documented More > Save route. If it remains unavailable, the instructions do not provide a definitive resolution.

Made for Kids is a separate playlist limitation
Do not confuse age restriction with YouTube’s separate Made for Kids rule. YouTube says a video or channel marked Made for Kids cannot be added to a playlist from the homepage, but it can be added from search results.
