Yes—an unofficial community driver project says it can initialize a GeForce GTX 1080 Ti under 32-bit Windows XP. Forceware 382.69, maintained by SupraGSX, is based on NVIDIA’s 368.81 Windows XP driver; it is not an NVIDIA release or supported driver. The project reports specific fixes verified on a GTX 1080 Ti, but its device list does not mean every retail card variant has been tested.
What Forceware 382.69 is—and what “bootable” means
Forceware 382.69 is a community modification for 32-bit Windows XP, built from NVIDIA driver 368.81 and released under the custom version number 382.69. Its README identifies the current build as dated October 6, 2026. The project documents initialization fixes for CUDA, OpenCL, GPU PhysX, and OpenGL display-class support that it says were verified on a GTX 1080 Ti. That is evidence of those tested functions starting on that card; it is not a claim that every feature, application, or configuration works.

The project’s repository is the primary source for its supported-device entries and technical notes: Forceware 382.69 on GitHub. “Bootable” should not be read as a promise that every XP system will install cleanly or that all modern display capabilities are available.

The README lists desktop Maxwell and Pascal GPUs, along with selected Quadro desktop cards. These entries describe the project’s INF/device coverage, not equal validation across all board models or complete systems. The README expressly cautions that adding a model to the INF is not individual validation of every variant.

The README excludes mobile GPUs and GP100, GP107, and GP108. It says experimental GP107 support was suspended following user reports of Code 10, a Windows device-start failure. That history is a reason not to assume that a listed or related GPU will behave identically across hardware and systems.
What display and driver changes are documented?
The project describes changes involving DisplayPort link training, HDMI 2.0 and SCDC configuration, HDMI/DVI limits, control-panel scaling and topology, and EDID handling. It also lists DisplayPort HBR2/HBR3 handling and HDMI 2.0 setup and retry handling. These are the documented areas of work, not proof of a specific resolution or refresh rate on a particular monitor.

In particular, the README warns that HBR3 support does not establish full DisplayPort 1.4 support for DSC, HDR, or MST. A port negotiating a link is not the same as every feature in the DisplayPort standard being implemented.

No. NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 1080 Ti user guide lists supported Windows versions such as Windows 10 and Windows 8, but not Windows XP. The XP compatibility described here comes from the community modification, and NVIDIA does not present it as a supported configuration.

Tom’s Hardware also describes the driver as a mod and advises caution with unofficial drivers: its report on Pascal support in Windows XP. The available sources do not establish that this project has received a security audit. Treat it accordingly, especially on a computer that handles sensitive data or connects to untrusted networks.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Does it support Windows XP 64-bit?
The project README specifically targets 32-bit Windows XP. The reviewed documentation does not establish support for Windows XP 64-bit, so the 382.69 name should not be taken as evidence of a 64-bit build. TweakTown’s October 5, 2026 report likewise describes the port as targeting 32-bit XP: TweakTown’s coverage.
Quick Recap
What to check before trying it
- Confirm the operating system is 32-bit Windows XP; the project does not establish 64-bit XP support.
- Check the exact GPU and hardware ID against the repository’s device entries. A matching entry is not proof that every board revision or system configuration has been tested.
- Review the project’s installation and rebuilding notes in its repository, and keep a recovery plan for restoring a working display driver if installation fails.
- Decide whether unofficial software is acceptable for the machine. The existence of a project README and source does not substitute for a security audit or NVIDIA support.
- Set expectations around display output: the documented link and setup changes do not guarantee a particular monitor mode, refresh rate, HDR, DSC, or MST behavior.
