Does the Galaxy S22 Ultra have MagSafe?
No. Samsung’s documentation establishes Qi wireless charging for the Galaxy S22 series, including the S22 Ultra, but does not establish built-in magnets or Apple MagSafe certification for the phone. MagSafe is Apple’s branded magnetic-accessory system; a third-party magnetic accessory may still work with the S22 Ultra when the phone has a suitable magnetic case or ring.

Choose a magnetic case
A case designed for the exact Galaxy S22 Ultra model is the simplest way to add a magnetic attachment point. Check that its maker specifies both magnetic-accessory support and wireless-charging compatibility; a case fitting the phone does not by itself guarantee that it will align or charge well with every accessory.

Add a magnetic ring to a case
An adhesive magnetic ring can add a magnetic attachment layer to an existing case. Before applying one, check the ring maker’s placement instructions and confirm that the case and ring are compatible with wireless charging. Ring placement, case material, and the combined thickness can affect alignment or charging.
Use a Qi pad if you only need wireless charging
If your goal is simply to charge without a cable, a Qi-compatible wireless pad is a separate option and does not require magnetic attachment. Samsung lists the S22 series among its Qi-compatible phones and says the series supports fast wireless charging, but that does not establish the speed a particular third-party charger and case combination will deliver.

What to check before buying a case or charger
- Exact fit: Confirm the case is made for the Galaxy S22 Ultra, not just another S22-series phone.
- How the magnets are provided: Determine whether the case has magnets built in or requires a separate ring.
- Wireless-charging compatibility: Check what the case maker and charger maker state about use together; do not assume every magnetic case or accessory works with every pairing.
- Thickness: Samsung’s general wireless-charging troubleshooting guidance recommends that non-Samsung cases be no thicker than 5 mm. This is general guidance, not a guarantee that a particular case will work with the S22 Ultra.
- Charger specifications: Check whether the charger states Qi or Qi2/MPP support and whether its maker lists the S22 Ultra or the type of magnetic case you plan to use. A charger’s stated rate is not a guaranteed result for every phone, case, and charger combination.
Why a magnetic setup may not charge reliably
Samsung warns that third-party covers with incompatible technology can cause wireless-charging problems. A magnetic case or ring may help with attachment and alignment, but it does not resolve every compatibility issue. If charging fails or is inconsistent, try the phone without the case, reposition it on the charger, and check the case and charger makers’ compatibility guidance. If it charges without the case, the cover or ring is a likely factor.

Bottom line on S22 Ultra MagSafe compatibility
The S22 Ultra can charge wirelessly using Qi, but native MagSafe-style magnetic attachment is not established. Add a compatible magnetic case or ring for magnetic accessories, and check the exact case-and-charger combination rather than assuming a particular charging speed or universal compatibility.
