Partly—but the claim needs a careful boundary. Noble Audio’s FoKus Artemis uses an app-based hearing test to create a personalized equalizer profile for listening. Tom’s Guide reviewer Peter Wolinski said the resulting sound improved his experience, but the available review does not establish that Artemis is a hearing aid, diagnoses hearing loss, or treats it. It is best understood as premium headphones with hearing-aware audio personalization—not medical hearing support.

What the Artemis hearing feature actually does

The companion app plays prompts across the frequency range and tests each ear separately. It then uses the results to create a custom EQ profile; the app also offers a standard 10-band EQ and presets. The intent, as described in Tom’s Guide’s review, is to tailor playback to the listener’s hearing response, including differences between ears.

That is different from establishing a medical condition or correcting it. The review does not provide independent clinical validation of the test or show that the profile restores hearing. It reports a listening personalization feature, not a diagnosis or treatment.

What the reviewer noticed

Wolinski reported that his profile brightened treble and made the sound seem more spacious. That is one reviewer’s subjective impression, not a guaranteed result for other listeners or a clinically measured improvement. He praised the headphones’ sound detail and personalized EQ after testing over Bluetooth with AAC and over USB-C in hi-res playback. Read Tom’s Guide’s FoKus Artemis review.

What you get for $899

Tom’s Guide listed the FoKus Artemis at $899 in the U.S. and £799 in the U.K. when its review was updated on September 23, 2026. At that time, U.S. orders were in preorder and British retailers were beginning to carry it; current pricing and stock may differ. Check the current Amazon listing.

Specification What the review reports
Design Closed-back over-ear headphones
Drivers Three types per side: dynamic, planar magnetic and balanced armature
Connections and features Bluetooth 6.0, USB-C, 3.5mm, multipoint and active noise cancellation (ANC)
Durability and weight IP52 rating; 324 g
Battery life Up to 55 hours with ANC off or 35 hours with ANC on, figures attributed by the review to Noble
Replaceable parts The review says the earcups and battery are replaceable; it does not establish repair availability or warranty terms

Wolinski also reported drawbacks with the companion app: it sometimes failed to recognize the headphones and crashed during a firmware update. Noble patched the iOS app after he raised the issue, but he still found it unpolished. That matters because creating and adjusting a personalized profile depends on the app working reliably.

How it compares with hearing-assistance features

Artemis’s personalized EQ is not the same feature as the hearing-aid capabilities Apple and Samsung describe for certain earbuds. Those products have their own eligibility, compatibility and availability conditions; neither comparison establishes that Artemis has a regulated hearing-aid function.

Apple AirPods Pro Apple describes a Hearing Aid feature for users with mild to moderate hearing loss, using a personalized profile from a Hearing Test to adjust ambient sound and audio such as music, movies, games and calls Apple’s 2024 announcement describes this as a distinct feature; check current supported generation and regional availability. Is Artemis the right choice for you?

It may suit you if…

  • You want premium over-ear headphones and value the option to tailor music playback to your hearing response.
  • You are comfortable using a companion app to run the test and adjust EQ.
  • You are weighing sound, connectivity, ANC, replaceable parts and current price as headphone-buying criteria—not looking for a diagnosis or treatment.

Look elsewhere for a different need

  • If you want a product with a specifically described hearing-aid feature, compare the supported AirPods Pro or Galaxy Buds models and verify current device and regional compatibility.
  • If you are concerned about hearing changes, do not treat a headphone EQ profile as a test result or clinical advice.

For price context, Tom’s Guide compared Artemis with the Bowers & Wilkins Px8 S2 at $799 / £675 and Bang & Olufsen Beoplay H95 at $1,250 / £879 at review time. Wolinski judged Artemis stronger in sound finesse, the H95 a more holistic luxury package, and the Px8 S2 more polished-feeling in build at a lower price. These are the reviewer’s qualitative comparisons, not a clinical comparison of hearing features, and the figures may no longer reflect current prices.

When to seek a hearing evaluation

Difficulty following conversations in noisy places or frequently turning up the volume can be reasons to look into hearing care, but neither symptom alone proves hearing loss. The National Hearing Test says its roughly 10-minute screening can help people decide whether to seek a full-scale evaluation. It also advises that people who continue to struggle with conversations in noisy places may want professional care even if they pass the screening. Learn about the National Hearing Test.

If concerns persist, seek a professional evaluation rather than relying on personalized headphone EQ. Artemis may make listening more comfortable for some people, but the evidence described in the review does not show that it measures hearing clinically or treats hearing loss.
